I am not an electronics person at all so I want to ask you all what you think. Is an itouch worth what they cost? It is the 16 whatever you call it as far as how much it will hold. It is for a gift not for me. I wouldn't even know what to do with it! Thanks.

I have th 8 gig Itouch and I love it. I use it for all kinds of things. my calendar- phone book- games- music- surfing the internet- listening to books- even reading books for that matter.
But as far as a gift goes- if the person wants an Ipod- the 16 gig Itouch is a great one.

That is the one I am looking at 16 gig. I don't know what that actually means but my son in law said it would hold a lot of music and that it has lots of games and stuff on it. Thanks.

Beth, I'm actually posting from mine right now. To me, it was worth the price. If buying it for a child, be aware if they have access to wireless internet; they will be able to surf the net at any time. There are also private browsers available as free apps. that will hide their surfing. They would also have unsupervised access to YouTube as well. Then there are the apps., some are simply crass and vulgar. Just a few things to consider if it is for a child.

On an added note, I use mine daily. The Bible apps. are really great. You can also install Pandora (the music site) on it.

Oh yeah.... Come to think of it you can set SOME "content guardians" on it. but I don't know how good they are.

Because of games and other apps. I wouldn't purchase less than a 16gb.

Thank you. I really have to depend on my son in law to explain all of this to me. I am so dumb about electronics.

I would go with 16 gig or more. Jacob has a 32 gig 2nd generation. I love them. Alexis is working on getting on this year as well. My phone is the 16 gig version and it holds a lot.

My kids load videos and such on them as well which is what takes a ton of room. Mine has 3 books (kindle), PDF files, email, the bible, audio books and music and I STILL haven't made a dent in the storage.

I may have Alexis just get the 16 gig instead of the 32 because honestly I'm not sure if the girl would store more than that. But their 4 gig iPods were full.
