I had the Biology. HATED it!!! It didn't give me near the information I needed; I had to go out on my own and get everything and put it together. We threw it out after only one or two weeks.

I used the biology book and plan to use the physics this year. It does lack on information. If you want an indepth study, you will need to get other books. If you want something short and sweet, something that introduces the subject, and something that has a little bit of hands-on, then this series may be for you.

I chose this series for several reasons. One, my son's interests are not in science. Because of that, I do not want to spend a lot of his education time on science but do want him familiar with the basics. Two, my son is not ready for a more intense program as in Apologia's junior high and high school books.

used the chemistry one and my kids really enjoyed that. There is a book list in the back of them for more reading. For elementary kids though I think it has plenty of info and they all liked the experments. I wouldnt use it for older kids though. At least not without supplementing.

I used the biology book when it first came out (six years ago?). I used it for only a few weeks, then I ditched it. It was a long time ago, so I don't remember much about it, but I think I was also disappointed in the lack of info. I started using Apologia elementary when the first book came out, I have all the books, and I'm still using that series (and I just started using lapbooks with them last school year). I love it! I bought a God's Design for Science series this summer in order to cover topics that Apologia doesn't cover, but I have yet to try it.

It says that your older child could use it one their own so I was thinking this may be the way to go. Have her read it, research a bit and then the experiments. Or have her read outloud to the younger two and then have her do extras. My concern is not being able to acess other books. I dont know how well the DOD schools libraries are or if I will have an easy acess to them.

I really don't think it would work well for you doing that. I don't think it has enough guidance. I had trouble with it as an adult; I think she will need more direction. JMHO.
