I do put my outdoor Christmas lights out early... I don't turn them on until after Thanksgiving. We never know how the weather is going to be & I have learned that putting up outdoor lights in freezing temps is not fun!!! I may have to do it in the next week or so since it will be warm!!! (The first year I put them up about a week or so before Thanksgiving & our neighbor came over giving me funny looks... well the next week was snow & cold, so she didn't get hers up. She told me that was pretty smart to at least get them out there.) LOL!!!

We usually put ours up the first week of December, after my oldest son's birthday.

Always after Thanksgiving! I hate how Thanksgiving always seems to be rushed to the side.

I still can't vote. :( Does anyone know at what point you can vote and post your own avatar? I've been trying to find out, but can't seem to find the info or get answers to inquiries.

Anyway, we always decorate the entire house on the first of December (or the closest day thereafter if something TERRIBLY important prevents us from doing it on the 1st). It has been a family tradition since I began our family, and one the kids used to always look forward to. It is on the top of their list of "things they remember". lol

I would have needed that playpen for a lot of years. I'll never forget the year I heard a crash followed by "Mooooom, J. broke the Christmas tree!"

The cat holds the family record for pulling the tree down--we'd not had it up 5 minutes.

These stories are sooooo funny!!! They bring back some fun memories - like trees with no ornaments for the fist three feet up because you have a kitten...ROFL!!!

Our record holder was a dog. A husky. She not only pulled the tree down, but I had a bunch of those ornaments that were popular in the 70's with the pins and sequins - she destroyed every last one of them! I don't know HOW she did it without swallowing pins or having them stuck in her paws and snout! ROFL!!!

We were picking pins out of the carpet for a year!!!
