my aunt kathy, is now in rehab, she is trying to over come an addiction, and this isnt the first time she has had to go to rehab, i wanted to know if you all would pray for her, because i want her to stay sober, and i want her to be the aunt i use to know. thank you (and im sorry, im sure this is a weird request for most of you..)
Not a weird request at all. If everyone would be honest they know someone in the same shape and many have family like this too. I can remember one post about a step dad who drank and mouthed alot a long while back now. Also about a grandma who drank bad. It happens to the best of families. Lorna
Hoping things will improve and she can overcome her addiction. It is such a hard thing to watch and even a harder thing to go through. My prayers are with you and your family Stephanie.
i hope so, tommorrow, i get to go with her, she does church on the streets (she has to for 6 months, its part of her rehab thing) church on the streets is a group that go out and feed the homeless and preach to them and give them clothing, etc. im hoping they are rubbing off on her, last time she went, she told me she cried, because alot of the homeless people are just like she was when she wasnt sober. i think shes going to be fine, thank you everyone for your words of support. also, does anyone know of any other church related groups in arizona?
We'll keep praying for your Aunt, and for you too! I'm sure your Aunt appreciates your support, and witness!
Stephanie, you are a great neice to care about your aunt so much. I will pray for her. As always when I say that you can bet I am praying just as soon as I hit "reply to post." Not because I am some spiritual giant...because I am too afraid of forgetting. Once you have already prayed for someone it is easier to remember.
Totally not weird! I am in a similar situation with a cousin of mine. She denies being addicted to pain meds and other prescription drugs, but it is closing in on her. I feel your pain because I am very close with my cousin. Prayers are definitly coming her, and your way!
Stefanie... no request is ever too weird (and I've thought I've had some myself). Will be praying for your aunt
