Hi all! I'm new to this site, but definitely not to homeschooling. I homeschooled all three of my children, the first two all the way through high school and the third went into the local high school as a Sophomore. My oldest is now going for her Master's in Art, my middle child is struggling in finding out just what life is actually about, and my youngest graduated Salutatorian this year and sent herself to a private pre-vet school in VA on full scholarship! I'm proud of all 3 of my children and I now am raising my 3yo grandson, who I also hope to at least begin by homeschooling, God willing. I didn't use any set curriculum through my 20-odd years of schooling, but must have tried pretty much everything! Some worked, some didn't. I think that is one of the keys to homeschooling - learning from what doesn't work as much as from what does. It's great to meet ya'll and hope to learn a lot and play catch-up on all that is happening in the homeschool world!
welcome to the spot. I was born and raised in Wisconsin, where at are you? I was up by Madison. I am now in good ole sunny Texas. sounds like you have some good ideas to share. Can't wait to hear them.
Thank you for the welcomes! As to where I'm from, I live in the south central area, but quite a bit north of Madison. My daughter was born in the UP, and I still have my sister who lives just about 5 miles south of the border! If it's one thing I never have trouble talking about it's homeschooling. It has definitely been my biggest passion in life!
Hello! I'm new here and noticed your post just after I posted my own introduction. We used the same title and smiley face. LOL. I am also new to discussion boards! Anyway, just wanted to say hello and hope to see you on the boards! Heather
Welcome! I am also new here! It's awesome that you're from Wisconsin. My college roommate used to live there and was home schooled all the way through.
Hello, Im new to this and was looking for some help and advice. I was homeschooled for two years in high school and loved it. My sister, who is 16 and lives with me wants to start independent studies/homeschooling. But I have no clue on where to start. Please help ??? All the schools i've found so far have crazy fees and the books are expensive too. When I was homeschooled we didnt pay for books or any fees. My mom did it and now shes dead, so I have no clue on where to start. IF anyone has any info I would appreciate it. Thanks, Shanda
I'm in WI too! After lurking on the site for a few months I finally registered. We are new to homeschooling this year and just trying to find our rhythm and style.
