That right there is reason enough to homeschool! BRRRR!!! What's even more sad, when I'm taking Lance to school, there are kids walking!!
We have had a winter storm this week that has kept our local school either closed or on late start. I love that while they are having to change their schedules we just keep on going. I love homeschooling!
Everywhere I look online says it's -2. I'm hoping my temperature gage in the car doesn't work properly! Still too cold though!
We are finally warmer here. It's been in the upper 20's. We had our cold snap a few weeks ago of -20. That was really cold sitting at the ice arena watching my sons hockey games. The cold definately makes you appreciate the warm weather.
Holy cow! A real cold snap here is when temps are in the's for a couple of days. We are supposed to be leaving on the 21st to drive to Bloomington, MN to stay with friends for Christmas. He sent me a photo yesterday of his yard with 7 inches of new snow. My husband is really nervous about going though considering this huge blizzard going across the US right now. I am hopeful it will pass and be ok by the time we go. We are going next week to stock up on long johns for us and the kids!
Hehe, the kids and I went for our walk this morning when it was between 19 & 23 degrees. It felt so warm that we were just in t-shirts. We were carrying our jackets.
Anything under 75 is WAY too cold for me!! (It's been in the 30-40 range here this week... not a happy camper!)
I don't MIND the cold (last night was 24) - but can't STAND wind!! Makes life miserable when we can't go outside - not because it's cold but because the wind is blowing so hard you can't DO anything!
I'm loving our 30's and 40's here because it doesn't happen to much or last too long so I welcome it when it does come. I saw on the news last night that where we are going for christmas it is 4 degrees. That is a whole 40 degrees colder that here. Last night we went to dd13s choir concert and we were all bundled up and dh said I can't imagine was 4 is going to feel like.
It's currently -2 here with winds at about 10mph. Earlier this week, we got about a foot of snow & it looks like we'll be getting more precipitation over the next few days (rain, snow, & ice are all expected to fall during the next 2-3 days). I'm thinking we'll stay in the house for a few days (with the exception of grocery shopping today - we need food).
we have been cold too and we got snow here! ON our block there is a hill at the top of the street, it had snow on it for half the week! so neat! we are hoping to get more! btw we are in a town that NEVER gets snow but like once every hundred years lol
It's -1 here too!! We went to see Disney Princess on Ice last night and I actually woke up with my cheeks that are red from the cold. WOW! I was only walking in a outdoor parking ramp too! Most of our schools were closed on Wed. due to a nasty storm and the winds were really crazy! Hope it warms up soon, my van doesn't get warm very fast.
I'd be happy to pack up our snow & send it to you, but I think the cost of refrigerated shipping may be a bit more than I can spend right now.
Monkey Mamma~ I live right by Bloomington and yes, it's super cold!! We do have snow. The highways are good but the side roads are still kind of yucky. Just gotta be careful. Hopefully your drive here will be a safe one. You'll have to go to the Mall of America if you haven't already been there, it's alot of fun especially if you have a girl and she like American Girl dolls. Fun store!!
