Have you ever had a day where you just knew that your head would explode if one more thing went wrong? Well, today is one of those days for me. It is just now Noon. I've been up since 5:30am. That means that I've been up for less than 12 hours, and my day has been horrible the whole time. Here's a short version of my day so far:
wake up & cough for 5 mins (pneumonia may be gone, but the cough isn't)
    fight with the desktop computer
Facebook isn't working right (I'm on my laptop)
    fight with the desktop
get the kids breakfast, vitamins, & meds
    fight with the desktop
    do laundry
    Facebook still not working right
    fight with the stupid desktop
have the kids go play while I fight with the desktop
ds can't watch Dinosaur train this morning because all my PBS channels have disappeared over night (I now have MTV & a few Spanish channels that I'd be happy to get rid of, but they make my PBS channels disappear instead)
    do the dishes
still can't log into the stupid desktop!
need to release some anger, frustration, and tension - let's go outside so I can beat one of those metal poles in our yard with a baseball bat
can't find the bats - either the jerks who broke into our garage stole them along with all the tools or they're in the spider filled basement
now I'm cold & frustrated - back inside
cough for 5 mins because cold air makes me cough
let kids watch movie so they stop coming into the room every 5 secs while I fight with the desktop
found out that the chicken I plan to cook for dinner is still frozen solid
    fight with the desktop
    PBS still missing
    Facebook finally working right
    fight with the desktop
make lunch - grilled cheese & cucumber slices

That pretty much brings us up to now. It's a little after noon, the stupid desktop still isn't working right & PBS is still missing. Dh says the bats are in the basement. I'm thinking of using one to beat the desktop into tiny pieces. In about 5 minutes, the kids will start their schoolwork & I'll clean the living room. Then, I'll fight with the desktop some more. After that, I'll work on the book inventory. Then, fight with the desktop. If I haven't fixed the desktop by tonight, I may be running it over, with the car, tomorrow. If PBS hasn't shown up by tomorrow morning, Comcast will be hearing from me. I really hope (for the sake of the poor employee that would have to deal with me) that my channels are back before then.

I'm looking forward to going to bed tonight.

I am sorry!! I have had so many days like that!! In fact I blogged a while back about a day I had just like that. It will get better but it always seems that everything goes wrong all at the same time especially when we are sick!

    To Whom It May Concern,

Please excuse Hmsclmommyto2 from her duties today. She is seriously in need of a mental health day. I don't mean to scare you, but if you don't give it to her, she just may go down to the spider infested basement to get a bat and start beating something. (?) She just cannot be responsible for her actions right now.

    Respectfully,
    Someone Who Cares

P.S. You might want to put in a word to both her computers or they might end up being the "something."

    LOL!

Thanks! Yesterday really was such a bad day. The chicken I made for dinner cooked for over 5hrs & the legs still weren't done! The breast was done, though. So, at least we got some meat with our meal. I let the kids take an "unschooling day." They watched Mythbusters & read some books. That counts as Science & Reading.
The desktop is still acting really wonky, so I'm ignoring it today. I'll fight with it some more this weekend, but I have too much going on during the week to deal with it if it's going to be this stubborn.
Today we're doing some school & housework. Then, we'll relax & watch a DVD. I'm trying to keep the stress level down today.

I think the answer to your "situation" is to stay in bed until 10:00am and then eat a nice warm bowl of oatmeal, lay on the sofa, with the children and watch a nice movie, then start school around noon. Don't touch the computer, telephone, tv (except the movie you put in) and have no contact with the outside world. Enjoy your children today!!!

Unfortunately, some housework has to be done today. At the very least, dishes & a load of laundry need to be done. That may be all I do for housework. Tomorrow is our last day of school before we break for Christmas. So, this week has basically been about making sure we've finished whatever we we're in the middle of. Right now, ds is doing ETC. He decided to start a new lesson today. He usually does half a lesson a day, so he'll finish it tomorrow. He's been learning about graphs in Math. We had planned to graph M&Ms today, & he won't let me get away with putting that off. We're going to do it after lunch. Dd has already finished almost everything she needs to finish. All that's left is her project for the book she just read.

So, she'll work on her project while ds does Math. After that, I think we will put in a movie or read a book. Spending half the day curled up watching a movie or reading with the kids sounds really good right now.

Geesh, and I thought I had the worst day ever!! LOL
My TEENAGE son was having a melt down over a bat, how weird is that?
I thought I was gonna explode.
I had taken his xbox away for punishment but then after a few HORRIBLE hours of him following me around all night, I caved! I made him pray outloud and then he went on his merry little way and left me alone the rest of the night.
These teenage years are killing me!!!!!
Glad that day is over for me and you!

We fixed the computer! After it went completely schizoid, we spent 2 days fighting with it. We finally got it. All it took was taking it apart & putting it back together again. We think the problem is that one of the sticks of RAM decided it had lived long enough & self destructed. Luckily, it was the smaller one that died.
So, everything is fixed. Now I get to focus entirely on making sure that our bills all get paid this month (dh's work is closing for 2 weeks & they're only paying for holidays), finishing the Christmas present we're working on for everyone (we're making a DVD of the kids singing Christmas songs), figuring out how many Christmases we can do this year, and how to get the kids to behave at the fancy restaurant we have to go to tomorrow for the surprise b-day party for SIL.

I'm so glad the computer is fixed. That means I don't have to figure out how to afford to replace it right now.
