Is anyone using Mystery of History :Early Church and the Middle Ages ? I am using this with my daughter and find it to be very interesting. I have a few other Middle Ages resources but this one is my favorite.

We have used it in the past, and I loved it. When you get to the Arabian Nights, be sure to read "Shadow Spinner" by Susan Fletcher. I'll try to find some of the other books we read with the unit for you! Depending on the age of your daughter, "Kingdom of Heaven" with Orlando Bloom is a great movie! While I wouldn't call it historically accurate, I was amazed at how much of it I knew from what we had read! Also, "Ivanhoe". My son was only five or six at the time, and when the king's men stormed the monastary (or whatever it was!), he jumped up, sword in one hand and shield in the other, yelling, "FOR KING RICHARD!!!"

We are doing MOH Renaissance and Reformation right now.

    Hi Jackie,
My daughter is 14 years old and we are using this for 8th grade. I find other textbooks to be too dry.Along with this we are reading parts of "The Kingfisher History Encyclopedia" and "The Usborne Internet Linked Encyclopedia of World History". We also have "Famous Men of the Middle Ages" by Greenleaf Press and some other resources that I don't remember the titles of right now. Sometimes she does like to watch movies based on books she's read and compare the differences between the movie and the book. She liked doing that with "A Christmas Carol" a couple of years ago.
How cute that your son was acting out the story so dramatically. LOL
