Well, for one of my sons, diagraming was how he had it all "click".... considering he's a hand's on learner I think diagraming can work well for some.
My ds will probably NOT go to college. He is in the 9th grade. Is there any Language curiculum that does not get into these "things". Maybe just the nouns, verbs, pronouns, adverbs, adjectives? Help!!!

You know - I had Jake do a workbook page today for diagramming - and it CLICKED for him....and this was the basic stuff. So just 1 page per day might be good to understand WHAT the words are.... or just have him read "GrammarLand" Great little book......
My oldest son could not identify the parts of speech unless he diagrammed the sentence, however, my other four children hate it and in my opinion didn't need it. The question to ask would be does it clarify sentence construction or does it cause unnecessary frustration?
