We got record snow fall yesterday. Here where I live, we got 14 inches. I haven't seen that much snow since I was a little girl in Minnesota (which I don't even remember). So, we are having a snow day here.:D It started yesterday and we did a half day, but it was like pulling teeth. So, today we are closed for the day.

Is anyone else taking the day off?

Well, I have been living here since 1975 or '76 and I can remember some snowfalls that were enough to play in, but not enough to sink into when you walk. This is a record here, so it may never happen again or if it does then it will most likely be a long time. It is great and not so great. My job closed for three days. I like it, but they are not paying us-so that is not so great.

I am going to enjoy the snow and the time off though. My son doesn't want the snow to go, and it seems like only part of it will melt today. Tomorrow is a different story-it is supposed to get up to 52 degrees. So that will do away with a lot of it.

Yeah, I wish Al Gore would visit Texas this week. I know in the past he has planned to speak out on Global Warming only to visit a place going through a horrible cold spell. As far as that whole issue goes, I think we should be concerned about pollution, but we shouldn't use false scare tactics. We really haven't tracked temperatures long enough to really know how this whole world cycles. I read somewhere that in the late '60s someone predicted that we were going throught a global cooling and that it was irreversible.

We got a few inches of snow in Atlanta today. Someone told me earlier that this is the first time in recorded history that all 50 states are at least partly covered with snow.

Wish we had snow in Vancouver! The ski hill is having trouble getting enough snow for the Olympic races!
