My children saw me today in the kitchen washing dishes, making dinner and trying to entertain the baby in the high chair. So my five year old pushes out the high chair and plays with the baby in the living room, and my six year old says to me "mama can I wash the dishes so you wont' be so busy?" I happily let him wash while I cooked, and the baby was happy playing with his brother, I have two great big boys and they are great helpers!
Sounds like you are a very good role model. I think EVERYONES LOVES hearing mommy brags rather than moms complaining about their kids. Way to go!
What great daddies they will be someday!!! When Rachael was that age, she took Phillip on her hip into the hall way one day. I was just getting ready to nurse him when the phone rang for an important call. I put him down, and he was NOT a happy camper!!! When I came back into the room, he was gone. Rachael walked in bouncing him and told me, "I knew it was an important call, so I made him stop crying...."
How sweet Jackie! My 6yo will sometimes pick him up and carry him round but the baby doesn't like it much cause he carries him funny...
Lessons...no, this is not an everyday occurrence in our home, though we are working toward that goal!
That's right Jackie! I take what I can get and I always make a big fuss over it so they'll be excited to do it again!
