Okay...first our furnace went out. Turned out to be the blower...cost $500. Then, our hot water heater gushed and died. Got a new one...cost about $400 with labor. Pipe leaked...big time..guy came back out and now it's fine. Next, I heard a huge crash. Well, our gutter is hanging by a thread! lol. Our house looks terrible in the front now..lol. So far..that's about it. I think that's enough. I am so hoping that God thinks that's enough also. So, anyone know a good gutter guy in Ohio? LOL.
Oiy... I know what you mean! I feel like we bought the Money Pit! I have no clue how in the world my inlaws lived in this house with the issues we have had! We had a good rain 2 weeks ago, I walked into the breakfast room to find 2" of water that had come in UNDER THE WALL!!!! Here when they built the deck the built it right at the same level as the floor and butted the wood right against the house  That is my FILs intellegence for you! The water heater is new, but to save money they bought a small one.. too small for a family of 6, so we have to buy a new one, the furnace doesnt' seem to be strong enough either, and the wind whips in under/around the doors and windows like we are holding them open. Someday we will get it all taken care of, but man the money it will cost us to fix their mess is going to be outrageous!
Sounds to me like you have dealt with enough lately. Praying that the repair is inexpensive and the last you will have to make for a long time.
we are getting our water heater replaced friday........ $700...... so there is your prayer answered........ you saved $300. In our city you have to pay a lot to have them take away the old one. we are getting a very energy efficient one.
Wow Ava! I agree don't ask what's next and Don't pray for patience...... your only tested more..... I'm going to pray that everything gets fixed and nothing else goes wrong!
Oh AMY! We still have our old one! LOL. The guy was a friend of a friend...so we had to pay him but he didn't take the old heater away. It's snowing like crazy here....so much more fun, I'm sure! Just so you all know...as crazy as this post is, I am more laughing than crying. What else can ya do, right? lol.
Ava, we have been laughing too... it's frustrating, but if we fretted over it we would be in the funny farm really quick. We just roll our eyes... and work out a plan to fix the latest find.
I know what you mean. As soon as we thanked God for getting our tax return back, the dryer started making a really bad sound, the vacum cleaner started smoking, and the check engine light came on in the car!
Just remind yourself how lucky you are. You have water to be able to heat. You live in a free country where you can earn a living to be able to provide for your family. You have a roof over your family that keeps you all warm and dry. I only say this because I too remind myself this at times. Right now we are out of work waiting on the next job but I feel blessed because we have unemployment to help ends meet. Things could be much worse. I also have my dh here with me everyday to help with school - yay!! Things will get better. (((())))
Our stove quit working and we went almost a month without one because we did not have the $$ to fix it. Got that fixed finally, then the drier went out. Got that fixed now we are poorer than we were before. (((( )))
Oh My Goodness...your house sounds like ours! We have an old fixer-upper with steam radiators. We had to replace the boiler this winter to the tune of $4500. Then, the recent rash of snow brought down our third floor gutter...there's still too much snow of the roof for us to get out there and do anything about it. Guess we've got to look at the bright side, and be thankful that we have a house! But what a mess sometimes. Here's hoping that nothing else happens to our houses this winter.
Life with problems is how you know you are alive is what I have said over the past 4 years that hubby has been sick.
