So I took the plunge and purchased my curriculum today. I thought I was going to use BJU but I ended up purchasing McRuffy Press the reading, phonics and math. So here is our line up for Kindergarten

    McRuffy Press Reading and Math
I plan on using the Sonlight read aloud list for books to read to him as well as readers. I am also using ixl.com for math practice and starfall.com for more reading and to change up the pace on some days
Science Centers- Science -found them on homeschoolingbooks.com
    Horizons-Health
    Abeka-Social Studies

What do you guys think! This is my first time so I hope I made good selections.

    Looks good.

Right now we are just playing with the McRuffy Science and Math... looking at things, talking about things, playing with the awesome manipulatives, and NOT writing in the books..lol DD "should" start K this fall, and DS next fall, I'm not ready to start full force yet ;) (plus I don't want to get too far ahead of JoAnna.. I'm pretty sure we will be following in her footsteps and buying most things used from her ;) ) We are also doing some HOP phonics, some preK workbooks, watching videos and playing games.

My plans for next year are McRuffy for Phonics, Math, and Science. Misc. books and classical stories and nursery rhymes for read alouds, and using my memberships to abcteach and teacherfilebox and simple-homeschool-classroom for Social Studies and fun.

AH! I wish I knew what all of those were, then maybe I would have a better understanding of what you were introducing! :p Where do you obtain your curriculum?

I didn't know a couple of the curriculum's she mentioned so I just googled them and looked through them.

I am still debating between McRuffy phonics and Bob Jones phonics. So hard to decide! I have changed my mind 20 time!

Reading Phonics and Math- www.mcruffypress.com click the Kindergarten tab and you can view math, reading & phonics and science. I chose not to use their science because of cost.

www.homeschoolingbooks.com is a site that offers complete curriculum from various publishers. If you go to that site there are several tabs, one tab is complete curriculum, or you can search by subject only. Choose elementary science and there is a science there once you scroll down called Science Centers it is a file folder science program for pre-k and K. It is $16.00 vs $64.00 McRuffy Press. I decided to go with this science since it met my state and world book requirements for science. This is my first year hs I don't plan to focus alot on science and this program appears easy enough for me to introduce topics ie solids, liquids, animal life cycles, human life cycles, sun etc.

Social Studies I chose www.abeka.com go to their K subject area and you can choose the topics you would like to view. I am using two books here, one about community helpers this teachers your chid about different jobs people have in their communities and another book I am using teaches about children around the world. Since I am not teaching history this year I am using the social studies to introduce geography. I will be using these two books along with another book from www.homeschoolingbooks.com Children Around the World.

My health curriculum is from www.aophomeschooling.com

I am an eclectic. I did not get everything from one vendor. HTH :)

No crazymama and I am going crazy waiting. Since I have made my purchase I have made the decision not to look at any other curriculum so I don't doubt my choice but I am soooo nervous. I got my Horizons health curriculum and I have reviewed it. I am a little dissappointed it is totally for a classroom but I am just going to make it work. I am hoping that I absolutely love Mcruffy. Question how much time do you spend putting everything together and mapping out your lessons. I read that there is not a lot required for prep time but I see some things need assembly. I did get notice that my items had shipped today. Yippeee!!!
