    Suggestions?

I have heard of English from the Roots Up.

My kids will be 4th & 6th next year, and I'd like to use something to teach them roots.

    Thoughts? FAvorites? Suggestions?

I have a copy of English from the roots up that I'll be using this coming year for my boys. I think it's great from just reading and looking at it. I think for older children you could do more with it, I'll just be using it in a very scaled down and basic way for my two. There is also a second book in the series that has even more roots.

Keep in mind though that the book was originally written for a classroom so the game that she suggests in the book will need a bit of modification to work for homeschool because we just don't have the students to do it properly.

Caesar's English - awesome vocabulary books introducing Latin and Greek roots. We used both levels and are now finishing Word Within the Word 1.

I too just ordered this book for my soon to be 5th grader and look forward to getting into it. I think it'll be a great resouce and tool and can't wait to figure out just how I'm going to use it. I'm thinking of making use of this bundle from Currclick in some way:

Very curious to see what others are doing.

The 6th grade spelling book from Christian Liberty teaches a lot of Latin and Greek roots. It's very inexpensive. I think I'll be using it next year.

    NOPE!!! Now Deena might....

I've also used the one that works along with the Apologia biology book. Science Roots, maybe? Got irritated with Rachael over it, because she didn't keep up with it like I was hoping she would!

We have used Vocabulary from the Classical Roots and it wasn't a good fit for our family. Too bookish and dry. We are now using English from the Roots Up and prefer it much more.
