www.booksshouldbefree.com lots of books for downloading. There are many different catergories and they are available in mp3 or ipod format.
ok, I have to ask this dumb question, why do we want audio books? And if I down load them do I get written words too or do I only get the sound of them to put on my mp3 or ipod or what? I guess that was two dumb questions hahah
Well for Dashawn this is amazing. He hates reading to himself and struggles to sit for me for more than a chapter. Recently I checked out a book on cd from the library and he sat (HE ACTUALLY SAT STILL!!) and listened to the whole thing. When it was over he began to (on his own) tell me everything that had happened in the book. I am not sure why, but right now he prefers to listen to someone else read it to him. So far the ones that I have download there are not words, just the audio. But either way, Dashawn is excited for them!
I play the audio books at night for my boys as they fall asleep, the really enjoy that and it helps them relax. I also play them during "rest time" each day, also I put them on my mp3 player and listen to them while I'm cleaning!
I have a dvd player that also plays MP3s and so I download them put them on cd and then play them in the dvd player, or I also will play them on the mp3 player using a "dock" so that it plays out of speakers. It works both ways, just depends on what book they are listening to.
Alexis listens to them and sometimes follows along in the "real book".... We even got the MP3 version of Apologia's General Science for her for next year (she asked to do it).... Me - I'm addicted to books and usually have 1-4 going on at the same time depending on the topics. 1 is always audio (just finished 1 today in the car).
