I have some of it for 1st and 2nd grade, though I haven't really used it. It's a lot like AOP LiefPacs only it costs a lot less. LOL

Do you have some specific questions I might accidentally be able to help answer? What grade level would you be considering?

I am using it now for second grade. I like the reading and science but the language arts isn't gonna work for us. And I bought the whole darn set. I am going to figure out a price and post it here soon for sale.

I've been using Christian Light for ten years. I've used the reading through eighth grade, the math through sixth, and the LA through seventh. I'm only just now getting into the Bible, science, and history, so I don't have a lot to say about those just yet.

I Love, love, love, the Christian Light! Especially the subjects that are in Sunrise Edition, because those are divided up for you into daily lessons, with regularly-spaced quizzes that are removable. Non-Sunrise is still a lot like lifepacs, but more than a dollar each cheaper, without color.

What specifically can I answer for you?

OH! DO use the diagnostics for math and language arts!!! the scope and sequence is a bit different, so don't be discouraged if your kids place "back" a little.

We just started reading with CLE for my ds( 13 ) and we love it! The comprehension is pretty tough...so I would definately take the placement test. I am planning to have my dd use the English and reading next year for 9th grade. It has been the perfect fit for us!

We just started the math for 1st grade. I love it. It is very simple to teach, with it laid out with exactly what to say and when to do what. I spend a few minutes teaching and then the rest of the time ds does it on his own. It is spiral in approach and for us it doesn't have to much repetition, and it seems to have just enough practice for ds to get it.

We are using it this year for 1st grade math and we started LA the 2nd half of 1st grade. It seems like a really good program and my DD is learning a lot. :D

We use it for Language Arts & Reading. My dd is almost done with 4th grade & my ds finished 1st grade "early" and moved on to 2nd grade. We go year round so it's not a big deal.

I do enjoy the wholesome stories & less expensive price tag. My only real "con" is King James version for scripture. It's a pain to translate to something they can understand better so we usually skip the scripture memorization portions of the tests.

So, if anyone with kids in 5th & higher wants to sell, let me know;) Or unused lightunits from 2nd & up.

We used the Bible this year and I liked it so well that this coming year we're going to use the LA, Bible, Reading, and Math.

Kathy Why not use a kid version to translate the verses. I would suggest the childrens' NLT. It can be found at cbd.com for good prices and speaks in kidspeak.
Some of them have super things in them to encoruage daily readings and thoughts too.
You could have them look up the addresses and read you the scriptures then copy them in thier booklets or whatever , notebooks etc.

I find that the reading lightunits actually do a pretty good job of explaining the KJV verses into everyday language, and helping the children to apply it to their own lives, in terms of the story itself and IRL.
