My happy little boy is back! I took a few days off of schooling my 5yo just so the two boys could get used to being with each other all day again, and today I started a "schedule" so that I get everyone their time each day, and get everything done (Thank you Managers of Their Homes). I had no intention of making my 7yo do school work for a while yet, but as I was teaching my 5yo he just walked right over and sat down and learned with us. He even asked if he could do some of his workbook pages from his school books (teacher gave them to us since they are consumable and mostly gone). It just proves to me that it wasn't really the curriculum that was stressing him out, but the teacher and her application of it. He did great today and I'm so happy to see my joyful little boy back. Someone please kick me if I EVER even consider putting him in another school! Sorry just had to share with someone and DH is at work till 9:30.
WONDERFUL!!! And we'll remember to remind you of this on those days that WILL come occassionally when he's fussing and complaining, "BUT I DON'T LIKE MATH!!! WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT ANYWAY? WHO CARES WHAT A DIRECT OBJECT IS?" Lol! So glad he's back and ready to REALLY learn!
That is wonderful! Sometimes all it takes is a little break from schoolwork to make them realize they actually do like to learn. My ds just went through the same thing.
I am here to serve!!! So...just hard of a kick do you think it will take the next time? I am so glad that he is recovering so well. I pray it continues.
Seeking...how did I know you'd be most happy to oblige my request? I knew I could count on you, and as you already know I can be quite hard headed so take that for what it's worth. We are glad as well, he's been so happy today, playing with his brothers, laying with the dog watching TV, asking to do worksheets from his books. He's be happy to do anything I've asked of him and the worksheets that used to take him 3-4 hours to complete he's done today in about 45-60 minutes! I couldn't be happier with him. I'm still not pushing him and all the work he does is work he asks for, I just want him to see that learning is fun. He's really enjoyed our readings today. I'm sure he'll love the curriculum I've picked for next year.
hurray! thats awesome! I am gald that he is less stressed it is so hard for boys at that age to have enjoyment in schools it seems.
