And thank you, whoever started the MFW thread a few days ago! I found this curric when my oldest was in Kinder. i wanted to do it, but held off b/c of the cost (hubby's a cheap Scot! LOL ). Every year, I've been tempted buy the catalog. Even last year, I was ALL DONE shopping and the catalog showed up and I said to myself "I'm doing Exploring countries and Cultures NEXT YEAR". I had forgotten. I had started planning something else when the thread popped up and reminded me! I reordered the catalog. I feel like God just parted the skies and told me "It's time to do this one". And I've had so many confirmations over the last few weeks. First, 2 or three people that I had NO IDEA used this curricula came out of the woodwork and told me about it! AND....I found out that the authors are coming to our local convention in June! AND I was able to find some of the books used. Not to mention, they recommend the writing curricula we already use...AND it doesn't include Math or L/A so we can still do what we're doing with them (which we LOVED this year). I'm going to buy the TM and student sheet s direct from MFW and piecemeal the rest for this year. If we love it as much as I hope to, I'm just going to buy it outright next year! I'm just happy about this....had to share!
I say "go for it". If God has lead you to this, it will be a blessed year. I wish I could start all over again, and start when my son was young (we started in his 7th grade year).
Welcome to the MFW family! Did you know they have their own forum on the MFW website? Check it out if you haven't already. When we started homeschooling, I was using an entirely different style of curriculum. Late in the school year, I received the MFW catalog. After constantly being pulled to it, I bit the bullet and changed our entire plans for the coming year. That was three years ago and haven't looked back since.
