I just got my catalogue today and all I can say is WOW! Talk about overwhelming. That is the biggest catalogue I've seen! How on earth do you go through it all? Or do you just know what you're looking for? I feel like I did as a kid when I got toy catalogue!
When I got my first Rainbow Resource Catalog I spent a week reading it cover to cover! I also at that time worked 3 days a week 12 hour shifts and didn't do much more than read for most of those 12 hours, and I always read before bed. Now I just know what I want and most of the time I don't order from RR anymore, I love their service and prices it's just easier most of the time to put my order in online at CBD or Amazon!
It is an amazing catalog. Can't read it all; it is just too much. I do enjoy reading about the items I am interested in. It really helps me to narrow things down.
Yes, that catalog is overwhelming. I usually only order if I know exactly what I want. I do alot with Amazon now because I have that Amazon Prime service with free shipping.
LOL I received mine about 2 weeks ago and thought " Oh I am going to need some Tylenol before I am done with this one!":lol:
I usually use my catalog to give me an idea of what is available or to look for unique books. However, I usually order directly from their site and use their search to find what I am want. I love Rainbow Resource Center!
How do I read it? Slowly and carefully over time. I can't get one here in Canada unless I buy something though
Lol!!! Rainbow's catalog is my #1 "Homeschool Resource Book". I keep it just above my computer. I use it especially this time of the year, when I'm on-line constantly trying to buy books. I buy them used as much as possible, and will check the used prices against Rainbow to see if it's a good price or not. If there's a new product I'm interested in, I will look it up in Rainbow. In all honesty, I don't order a lot from them.
I have not gotten mine this year yet! Not fair. I read mine over and over again. There is just so much infor and so many things I really like. I just love it!
Me either I want mine now.. even if I am done ordering for the year..lol I get in "curriculum" moods and I will sit and look at things.. usually just for ideas.. and then I stumble upon a gem I just have to have (bet hubby would be happiest if it doesn't show up at all..lol)
I love this company and almost order everything from them. Their service is fabulous and many times their shipping is faster than I expect. I generally look at the topics that I am wanting to cover. For instance, if I want to learn Ancient History, I peruse that section. They have it broken down into manageable parts. Their descriptions are so accurate and thorough.
I love it too!! I use it as tool to look at things I hear about on here. If I have a question about a subject I will look into that as well. I use sticky notes as flags to note what i like and don't like, and where subjects are. I love them too, I also haven't ordered from them, but I did buy some things from them at the convention
One thing about Conventions and Rainbow. If you want to buy something from them and they don't have it there, you can order it and pay for it there, and they will send it postage free.
Rainbow Resource Company sent me a notice asking if I wanted to receive their new catalog this year. If I did, I needed to send the notice back. Perhaps they are not going to just automatically send out those catalogs to everyone. If you have not received yours, that could by why. Those catalogs have to cost them a lot of money.
Or maybe you receive it for so many years, and then they ask; or they ask if you've not ordered something for so many years in a row. It would make perfectly good sense to to go through their records every so many years! If I don't get mine before the week is out, I will call them!
I wanted to say that I placed an order, shipped to China, and RR included a catalog in the package. Now, granted, it cost me a LOT of money for that package, but I was still impressed that they put that heavy catalog inside and didn't charge me for more shipping.
I went over to RR to check out the catalog. Well this is what it stated. So, I guess we can all relax they did not forget us...it is just not out yet.
