Homeschooling successfully DD first grade and next year DS second grade, Kids are in sports, church clubs, play dates with both HS kids and school bound kids. Hubby is NOT on board, thinks they are academically doing well but socially not-He works out of town M-F so really has no insight on our week, does not care to ask, criticizes most of what I do-house, time spent, playing the neglect card yet makes no attempt to help with anything so that I can end my day sooner. Does not discipline-more of a "fun" dad than a parent- Lifestyle is good but not worth it. Relationship ending has crossed my mind but am not able to homeschool if that happens. Can not talk to family about it and would really try to "fix it" but seems I am at the end of my rope and exhausted all avenues. He will not consider counseling or talking to my pastor (does not attend church). No abuse whatsoever, no yelling, not mean-Prayers for both of us and my family PLEASE!!!
Thank you all! Another defeating day but luckily my kids are my biggest blessing-would not know what to do without them.
some days it's just a matter of putting one foot in front of the other and plodding along. you are blessed to have your children, it's the whole reason you do this day after day. keep it up knowing we are lifting your family up in prayer.
I will pray for you. I could not IMAGINE trying to homeschool without hubby's support. I wanted to homeschool from day one but hubby said public school, so for prek and kindergarten we sent my oldest to public school, but I prayed, and hubby has seen public school isn't all roses, and is supportive of homeschooling next year. Prayer works! I'll be praying for you and your hubby!
Thank you Sonita, I need all the help I can get - It is not a good week. I appreciate everyones Prayers- they really mean a lot to me. Thank you all
Sending lots of prayers your way. Also wanted to let you know that my hubby was dead set against homeschooling when we started and now he has forbidden me to every stop! It may not happen for you especially since your hubby is away and doesn't see the reality, but it could happen.
