    Hello friends!

Happy holy week to you all, and many Easter blessings to you!

It is my "crazy" week of the year- even Christmas is not usually so hectic for me as being the church secretary during the week where we have three services (four this year since we also have a funeral...).

We are doing pretty good at our house. My older two sons have just started lifting some weights, and with the nicer weather all three of them are spending more time outdoors. DS #1 tried to take the dog on a run this morning, but the dog was too interested in smells to run! lol

We have about five and a half weeks until Mother's Day. I'm not sure I'll hit the 15 pounds, but am still working on it!

Stop in and say hello. We can do it!

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most documented fact in history--even by His enemies! Have a great time celebrating, and eat responsibly! By Mother's Day we'll be in even better shape!

    Well, here's my latest update.

In total I have lost 5lbs since starting the challenge. I am eating healthier, and moving more. I am being more deliberate about the snack choices I provide - more fruits & veggies, less carbs and junk. We are playing outside, walking and riding bikes. I am happy with my progress, and feel like I've started some good habits for our family.

I still need to work on emotional eating! That will be a work in progress.

I will have to step out of the official challenge though. We just found out I am pregnant again. :) So, my goal will be to stay healthy, but not loose weight. I was actually within 5lbs of my long term weight loss goal, so I am feeling pretty good about it.

Thanks for your support folks! Good luck with the rest of the challenge, (and Happy Easter!)

Congratulations MKR- that is wonderful news!!

Please continue to join us, as we'd like to hear of your progress too. It sounds like you are definitely on the right track toward healthier habits!

Good morning P.H.- how was your blessed Easter?

We had a very enjoyable day with in-laws, and I was able to relax a little finally. We are still quite busy, but my job responsibilities at least will be cut down quite a bit since we made it through Easter.

I am happy to report that I have lost six pounds toward our challenge! :D I am looking forward to trying to schedule in my exercise better, but feel pretty good about things so far!

Have a wonderful week! Drink your water and kiss your kids! MT3

Congratulations on the new baby on the way, Mykidsrock! Stay healthy!
    Our Easter was great, MT3!
With four more weeks 'till Mother's Day, those of us on the weight challenge can still lose 8 pounds. (Two per week is deemed a healthful rate.) I'm still "going down" & actually could achieve our goal by then. With a 6-lb loss already, it sounds like you could, too, MT3! YEAH! Let's keep going! Spring and summer work helps a lot!

MT3, a year ago I think it was you who suggested a Braun food processor to me. I found a very inexpensive Hamilton Beach one instead, used it a lot, and thoroughly enjoyed it--that is, until a piece of the shredding disc came off, flew through the plastic bowl, and whacked against the stove. It could easily have put out someone's eye or lodged deeply in flesh!

Now I'm seriously looking at Braun's! It looks like they only come with one size slicing disc, however. Is that your experience? Sometimes, like for scalloped potatoes, I like a thicker slice. Do you have success cutting french fries in a food processor? Thanks in advance!

Wow- how scary! I bet that had your heart a-going!
I'm not sure who mentioned the Braun- I have a Kitchenaid that I use to shred cheese, zucchini, potatoes, etc. It has four different blades I believe (I only use two!), and the mixing bowl part has a whisk attachment, a blade and a dough hook. I really enjoy mine.

I think we have all been busy- we are in full swing of soccer and baseball.

    Take care, and keep movin'!!

Well, I bought a KitchenAid and so far am very satisfied.
It's easier to keep movin' these days with so much wonderful out-door work.
TEN DAYS 'till our deadline. Maybe we can still lose another pound or two!
    Happy spring, everyone!
