Just found this site today Target sponsors free or reduced-price admission to arts and cultural events nationwide.

Go here to find the city nearest you.

Now, I'd have to go all the way to downtown Atlanta, but our Children's Museum has a FREE admission day every month at 1 pm! Some cities have free admission to art museums every week. I'm going to keep it in mind for our next vacation too.

Just thought I'd share this tip with you guys.

Here they actually sponser free admission to three local museums, on the first or second Sunday of every month. We went once, and never again it was WAY too crowded to actually enjoy it, and the boys couldn't really ask questions, and I couldn't explain things because of all the people.

Have to agree with Birbitt. Putting up with the overwhelming crowds wasn't worth the free ticket. I'd rather pay admission and not have to hold onto the wall to keep from getting trampled.

that is true ladies but sometimes when you have a large family or just can't afford it, its a great way to see something. Yes the crowds are something. But, like I tell my girls patient. LOL

I understand your point, Kris, but I have a middle child who will literally tear walls down to escape what he perceives as too many people. Somedays that can be 10 people in a room, other times 100.
But yes, if I had a family that dealt well with crowds, the free price would be worth it.

I didn't think about the crowds.

But, for our family, I think it would be worth it. Living off unemployment as our only income right now, I'd have to save up just to pay for gas to Atlanta (about a 2 hour drive). Not to mention the price of the tickets we would have to save up for for prob a year LOL Free tickets is probably the only way we'll get a chance to go until hubby gets a job :|
