We are just finishing up our 1st year to HS. My oldest will be in 9th grade in the fall. I know I will need to keep up with what he takes etc...we are in Texas so I know the laws..but I am at a loss as to where to look at what he needs to graduate? Credit wise? Any ideas would be great!

The best place to start is to pick some colleges he might be interested in or your state colleges and see what they require for admission.

In NC they send you the college requirements when you begin homeschooling, because local school districts have different requirments.

    Hope that helps

Where in TX are you? I know the Austin area occasionally has workshops for HS'ers about that very topic. Colleges send reps to answer questions, and BTDT moms answer questions. I haven't attended because I'm nowhere near that point, but I know it's a lot easier than you think. Are you in any support groups or co-ops? They could probably point you to a seminar like that.

I've personally looked at both the local high school websites (just for laughs) and then the top area colleges (U of VA, VA Tech, etc)....even if my children don't want to go to a "big" school, I want them to have the required credits that they "could" have....lol.

My nephew will be a freshman in PS and he just found out he has to have 26 credits to graduate. (we're in TX too). I'm not sure how they are broken down(4 math credits,2 language, etc) but I bet you could just call the school and ask for a requirement info. I believe it comes as a packet. should be available to anyone regardles of whether you have a student there or not.I'll see if my nephew has that info.
