I have these days...these days when my fingers itch for a crayon and a pair of scissors and today was that kind of a day. I looked at books today on Amazon and Ebay and found quite a few I liked, but we just don't have the money for any of them (behind on bills, etc etc.). Many of them were preschool oriented and so I got to thinking (can you smell the smoke?)...

What if I made my own books? Obviously they would be rudamentary, but my children would enjoy them! Also, it could be a lesson in creativity, imagination, and "doing your best"! I posted pictures just because I'm proud of myself for doing this, and to say that my son looked at it before bed and Loved it! (Purple Plane was his fave!)

P.s. This link is from my facebook page in a folder w/ some other pictures. I hope the link takes you to the pictures.

HAHA! Yea I noticed that after I got the colored pencil on it and everything else colored. I was so mad at myself, but DH thought it was funny and teased me a bit. Now it's a running joke. :p lol

What a neat idea. Is it very costly? If they publish and sell do you pay them outright? Or do they take a percentage from the sales?

I have children's stories, yet never thought they would get published. I only write them down because they won't leave my head until I do. My friends and family that get to read them say they are good and keep telling me to do something with them.

I haven't looked into it too much actually, but to actually publish a book it's $0.015 cents per page, and 84 pages is like $5.00. If you sell them on their site or on others then you get 80% of the profit from the sell. It looks great and I ma in the process of rummaging through my old High School stories and writing new ones to publish and mess around with. lol

it costs me nothing out of pocket, I only get paid after selling so many dollars worth of books though and then I get a check. So people an buy the book while I wait haha.
