Ok-have kid with autism. the clingy is not a factor either way. If they said she was "on the spectrum" it could be anything from extremely bright to hide in a corner and never get touched....the VERY FIRST they can even diagnose is age 3...so she probably has a bunch of other symptoms. PM me if you wanna go over any of THAT....it's a whole other thing (and no male dr wouldn't be the cause and neither would they be saying she didnt respond. Response is a very specific thing.) Personally-I would wait on that and just have fun with her for a few months.

My 3 yr old is very clingy - I attributed it to being prego-but my husband reminded me my daughter was the same way. I just think of it like Pooh bear and piglet-where piglet puts his hand on pooh's arm and says,"I just wanted to be sure of you."

Hmmm-my 3 yr likes the fisher price games, which would help her with pronunciation and letters; and I've used a whole mess of sites-found on sonita's website (she's amazing....).

Oh-and a daily does of sesame street will have her learning english (and keeping her spanish up) pretty quick.

Well we started using "Letter of the Week" - the preparatory lessons yesterday. I made the "learning poster" which she loves. I have a COW and a CALF on it.... I'm going now to put the "square" on it - we only "do school" as we walk by it (which can be a lot)....

Dana, that sounds PERFECT, and is what we did a few years back (then I decided that they were just fine without me throwing things at them and let it go), we would just talk about things as we were doing things around the house... like I would stick something on the poster and let them notice and ask me, I would tell them a little about it and then say if I was doing dishes and one of the littles happened to be nearby I would say "Hey this plate is a circle like the shape on the poster, Reagan what shape is this bowl?" and we would read a few books dealing with things from that week during the week... but I'm way more of a let them pick their own books kind of mom, so we didn't always pick the "right" ones..lol.
