Our homeschool group did a co-op the first semester of last year. We were looking at Lyrical Science but decided not every child learns through this method.

I would like to giveaway Lyrical Science Vol 1 & Vol 2 complete sets (TM, Student Workbook, and CD) to a Homeschoolspot mom! See the descriptions and link to the website below.

To enter: Just check out my curriculum website www.heartsathomestore.com and if you think it is a good resource, tell your friends. Respond to this thread after you see what I have to offer. I will draw a winner at randon on Friday, July 9th and post the winner on this thread!

    www.lyricallearning.com

Lyrical Life Science: Bacteria to Birds - Volume 1
We originally called this Volume 1 as it was the first set before we knew you wanted us to keep writing. We now refer to it as "Bacteria to Birds" as it covers many diverse topics such as: the scientific method, characteristics of all living things, vascular plants, algae, fungi and non vascular plants, invertebrates, birds, and several types of microscopic organisms.

Lyrical Life Science: The Human Body - Volume 3
Lyrical Life Science Volume 3 -The Human Body studies one of the most interesting mammals of all! You'll go through all the body systems and understand the interrelationship between them. Because this involves more complicated material (such as the immune system) we think you'll want to save this set for the higher grades. But, then again, if you use it with a unit study approach you can dig in earlier.

How cool! I've always wanted to get that, but I can't justify the cost.

Carrie, your site is a great resource - I ordered The Well-Planned Day (which is fabulous) and was pleased to see so many great options. I was also impressed with the response to questions I emailed.

    Thanks for offering this giveaway!

So a little off topic here-but has anyone used this curriculum? I've never seen it before and it looks very interesting. We're doing science at co-op this semester but I hope to drop co-op next semester so I'll need science then cause I have a science geek (just like his mom :D I'm so proud! LOL) so we'll be doing lots of science as long as he has an interest and this just looks like a really good fit for him. I'd love to hear some reviews if anyone has used it. (There's only one review of it on homeschool review, but it is a good review....)

Thank you so much Carrie-very helpful. I'm thinking I may just buy this for science come January if we don't do co-op again. I think the 3 year old would like it as well, I think for him it's be one of those things he would memorize the song and once he gets older could learn the meaning LOL but it's something they could do together but of course the older one will get much more out of it than the younger one, as with most things, but this just looks very cool.

Yes! I love your site too.

Waiting till hubby's payday next week, but I plan on placing an order next week. Your prices on a few of the things I need for the fall are the best! :)

I saw Lyrical Science at our local convention (someone had it used...really old - cassette version)....I ALMOST bought it for fun! :)

Love your site, as you know...and would love to win the curriculum! :)

Hey, can you get the Thomas Nelson Study Bible in KJV. I can't find it anywhere. I have it...but it's falling apart. I just love it so much, I hate to change. If you can get it...before you do...send me a link so I can confirm it's the right one. I would hate to see you get and find out it wasn't correct. I do remember it's a Thomas Nelson...NOT the reference..it's a big bible...runs about $40-$60, I think. I would look to mine for more info but the cover is messed up and the first few pages were torn out by a little 1 year old I babysat for...lol. That's what I get for leaving my bible out, I guess.

Ok, I listened to some of the songs and they are hilarious! I about rolled around laughing at this:

The Immune and Lymph Systems - this is only part of it!

to the tune of "La Cucaracha"

A germ is like a cucaracha
That would love to live inside ya
But white blood cells just won't allow it
and when discovered will destroy it

    Bacteria or germ, pester
Like with splinters when they fester
Your body calls on the white blood cells
Just to help you in those sick spells

It actually really sticks! How Fun!

I have thehuman body, its pretty deep study too! We did nto use the cd though so much, the songs were too hard for some in the co op to keep up with and not everyone is musically inclined. But it was a good study! I still have tM, cd and book unwritten in as well but deciding if I want to keep or sell to try to get postage.
this is a big deal to anyone who wins it! Cause the curric costs! and its great!
