I finally ordered everything this morning -- so it's on it's way! I can't wait!

This is what I ended up going with for DS's 3rd grade year:

    Horizons math

    CLE language arts

    McRuffy science

Time Traveler's for SS (will also do US geography as we add the states to our country... thinking it may be easier to remember that way)

Scripture Adventures - Old Testament for bible (if you haven't looked at this, check it out! Awesome stuff!!)

    SOS spanish

Story of the Orchestra - Listen While You Learn(teaches about the instruments, composers, the music - with a book and cd)

My Electric Guitar (some computer guitar program)

Discovering Great Artists (a hands-on book where you use the same styles as some of the famous artists)

misc. poetry (how to write poetry and books of poems), different books from Ambleside list

I think that's it.... seems like a lot; now I've got to figure out how I want to schedule the subjects. I'm one of those that if it's not scheduled, it tends to get pushed to the back! :|

So now I just wait for those boxes to start rolling in -- I'm so excited!!:lol:

I hope it is... a few things are new for us this year so we'll see and report how they work for us. :)

Those look like fun choices! I keep finding fun things and have to restrain myself from buying more - we are loaded for next year already, lol. We are also doing 3rd grade (and K). Which Time Travelers CD are you using? I wish I could add them, but I think after this coming year we're going to give Sonlight a try... so I may add them as they fit into the Sonlight curriculum in later years. They look so fun!

We're using Great American Artists for kids, by the same author. It looks really fun. My Mom volunteered to teach it so I'm extra thrilled, lol. I've been wanting to do The Story of the Orchestra also, but will have to do it another year. Let us know how it goes.

We're starting the New World cd first, then we may do the Colonial Times (or is it Life?) if we have enough time left in the year. I think it will be a very fun way to do history. I always hated SS in school, and I think it's because it was so very boring to me!

Randa, your list looks good! Hope it all works well for you!!

Yea! I love it when the order is on it's way! The waiting part stinks though!

And, the Time Travelers Series is one of my faves!

This is our second year also and I think I have ordered enough to get my kids through the next two years. I keep reading about stuff other people have bought and think.. wow, that looks great.. lets try it!

We are moving at the end of next month so I am not opening the packages (other than the boxes they come in) and its killing me, I want to dive right in!
