I'm not sure where school books are coming from this year. We've had a bunch of large expenses recently, and now our car is going in the shop. I'm to the point I hate opening my credit card bill. Is Book Samaritan still around? Does anyone know any other site like that I could try? I've posted my 4th grade stuff for sale on 4 different sites, but with no luck. Thanks for any advice.
What do you need Becky, I have lots to get rid of, and I know of lots of free sites for things. Yes Book Samaritan is still around... I don't know the address, but it should be on their site??

Hi Becky, I don't know what grades you are looking for, but I have the ABeka 1st and 2nd grade, complete curriculum, if it would help.
Here are some more free things: Science: http://www.sciencenetlinks.com/matrix.php Social Studies: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/xpeditions/lessons/matrix.html Spelling: http://www.zaner-bloser.com/spellingconnections/practice-pages.html Vocab: (click on students) http://www.wordlywise3000.com/ Look on my blog for math. Don't forget like bookadventure.org for reading comprehension.
you can find some stuff on Paperbackswap.com Try Curriculumshare.com - you have to offer something first but after that you can accept offers. and www.thebooksamaritan.com is still around so check them out.
Nothing but hugs. If you can invest the time, I always recommend the library for creating your own curric. VERY time consuming, but (if you manage to avoid overdue fees) less on the cost. Good luck
Oh I love all the Scott Foresman sites! Ah-don't worry-there is an ark out there-your friends will help you build it
Why is Scott Foresman giving away their science?? I only looked at a little of it, but it looks like full length lessons! Bless them for being generous!
The Scott Forresman aren't the full books, they are supplements to the books. SF is what Garrett's school used last year and one day he had a project due and didn't have his book, so we tried to get the info from this site and it didn't have enough info to do what he needed to do... but it is a great spine
I know what you mean. I have to sell last years books to help pay for this years. Plus I usually have yard sale to help with the rest. What curriculum are you trying to sell and what sites have you put them on ?? As other have said curriculumshare.com is great !! Some very nice stuff has been posted on there for only shipping costs.
I actually posted it all on here not long ago. I hated doing that, because I like to give my stuff away, to help the next mom. This year is tight because of these unexpected expenses we had. I've posted my stuff on three or four different sites.
hahaha.. I wondered what that was a few minutes ago. I thought it was just my brain exploding as I try to put together Garrett's affidavit. I can't decide if the school will throw a fit if I suddenly file an exemption on the medical stuff (even though he gets his regular check ups from the dr, dentist and eye dr. I don't feel it's their business what goes on) since I have always filed his shot record and reports from the drs. Good to know it was just your bubble and not my brain springing a leak..lol. Is there anything you are needing yet Becky? You can PM me a list and I will look on my shelves.
Actually, God interceded and a bunch of stuff has worked out. First, thanks to everybody here for all your generous help. Someone even came up with something I hadn't thought of. Yay me. I ran into some incredible deals on ebay. One seller is even willing to take a money order, so I don't have to use my credit card. I found a huge English set from another seller, and while they won't take a money order, the set is incredibly inexpensive! The other set is BJUP Heritage Studies, also incredibly cheap. So, it appears I need just two things. Does anyone have the teacher edition of Abeka grade 5 Spelling, Poetry, and Vocabulary? I found the student book for $2 at a second hand store. The other thing is ACSI Mathematics 5 teacher edition. It's a two volume set. If any of you see this, yell at me! I've looked on every used site I know of, but no one has it. I'd even take the 6th grade edition for next year, kwim? Thanks for all the help!
