I have made our schedules, but I can't get them to post. We do a schedule with times. However, I know from experience to only use the times as a reference point (unless we have to be somewhere). This takes the pressure off of us. Though the times do keep us on track!

My goal is to be able to do a "schedules" blog post...we'll see:D

We have a 'tentative' schedule that I try to stick to, but if we don't, it is okay. I just like to have one for my own piece of mind, but most of the time, we are way off time wise! LOL

We have a basic schedule but thinking and praying about changing it. As it is now:

Oldest two boys school scedule: Up by 6:30 shower, get dressed, eat, brush teeth and start school by 7:30 til noon. Help straighten the house and start lunch at noon. Eat at 12:30 then clean up kitchen and free time until 1:30 and then more school if they didn't finish in the morning.

Younger two: get up when ready, eat, and get ready for the day and then play until noon, then straighten up, lunch and then nap 1:30 until 3:30/4:00 whenever they get up. One of these two will start "school" in Sept. still working on that schedule.

Since I'm schooling Other People's Kids, we have to have a mutually-agreed-on start time and stop-time. We try to start at 815, and officially end at 245, so that we miss the ps bus traffic. Sometimes one of the moms needs their kid back earlier, but in any case we usually work until the moms come.... If we get finished with our day earlier, I can always drag out something like an art page, puzzle page, reading comprehension page, something they can stay busy with, but sometimes I'll let them do a game or a jigsaw puzzle, depending on how much time is left. We have lunch at 1145-ish, and break then until 1230-ish. They can work on any subject in the order of their choice (I put their assignments on a whiteboard), unless there's something in particular we're going to do together, like a read-aloud after lunch, or this year we're going to try doing science together with Considering God's Creation.

Sometime between waking and falling asleep we find time to eat, work and play. If we skip work too much I make 6yo sit and do "catch up" I let him have a huge say in his schedule and I dont want him to get lazy/take it for granted.

Our schedule looks a little different every day, but that is how I have it set up. You can see our schedule here.
Here is a video of a typical day in our homeschool.

We're kinda of fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants, and I kinda like it that way ;)

Though I would like to start getting up earlier....ideally, I like at least 30 minutes alone before the kids get up, but I'm just not a morning person, and my 6 year old is LOL so I really don't see that happening unless hubby gets a job where he has to get up early and I get up with him....

    Embassy,

What a sweet video! I hope I can be that good. I feel like there is so much to cover. With my work schedule I feel that there is so little time. But, since this will be our first year I am sure we will fall into a routine. God is good like that. :)

I simply have a list of things like this

    ODS:
Math 4 lessons a week (if he does them all on Monday that is fine with me)
    Reading 30 minutes daily
Science 4 sections a week, hopefully 1 lab (the lab can be watching the video of it or doing it if we can)
PA History 4 sections of the books a week (these are FUN books about our state history.. one is about Ghost Towns and the other is about "Forgoten Tales")
Spanish 2 lessons a week, practice using it as often as you can

    Littles:
    Phonics-4 days a week
    Math-4 days a week
    Science 2 days a week
Social Studies as it pertains to life we will fit it in (holidays, community helpers, etc).

We have a daily schedule that we stick to. Of course, I work full time so we have to be on a schedule or school just won't get done! We wake around 8 or 8:30 and have breakfast. We will then school until around 12:00 for lunch. After lunch we will finish up assignments for the day and do whatever else needs to be done before I head off to the bedroom for work at 3:00 (I work from home)! Then hubby takes over and they have free time until supper. After supper time, it is chore time with a little more free time if they get done in time. Then it is off to shower and getting ready for bed.

    Embassy, I loved your video!!!
