Do you have one? What kind? Do you like? Hate it?

Are the cheap ones (less than $100) worth it? Or should I wait until I can afford a 'better' (aka more expensive) one?

I'm going to ask my parents for one for Christmas if the cheaper ones are worth it, but I've never used one or had an experience with one so I don't know if it would be a waste of money to buy a cheap one....

    Your thoughts?

I have the Scotch one, but I bought it from Target. I love it and have used it tons.

I just wish I had money for a bigger one. I hate having to pay to have larger things laminated.

No. I wanted one, but wouldn't pay for it. I sent my dh out once for the After Thanksgiving sales because they had one priced down, but they were gone by the time he got there. (He didn't think they'd go so fast, so went somewhere else first. WE could have told him they'd be first to go, lol!!!) Anyway, now that my kids are older, I doubt I'd use it much. I wish the church had one, though!!!

ok I used three laminators this week at church, I love the one that has a roller. You do it yourself with out a plug, and you can roll it for as many pages at a time then cut them or cut it as you go. Elamination I think was the name of it?

do not get the Royal blue one it melted our product so badly we had to let it cool and pull it out it was all shriveled and just not good.

Some seem hotter than others, I am not sure how the manual one works, has to heat someplace I guess but its nice!

Ok.. the ones like Tmom was talking about are big machines and are EXPENSIVE.. and the rolls of film would make the normal person go broke quick!

I have the Scotch one from Walmart, have had it for a few years, just bought probably my 10th package of 200 laminating thingies from Sams Club (about $22 for 200.. way cheaper than $12 for a handfull at Walmart)... I use it CONSTANTLY.. I even make the kids their own dry erase boards with it ;)

I am a scrapbooker, so I use my Xyron Creatopia to laminate things. It laminates up to 12 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick so it is perfect for school things as well. :)

Wish I could buy a laminator. I just use contact paper for our laminating. I'll have to check out the Scotch Laminator. (Using contact paper cna take a steady hand and if you mess up- pffffft- nothing you can do about it! lol

I have the scotch one - I picked it up at Amazon....

    Laminator

I looked and I paid less for it on Amazon than the current price. But then I picked up 1000 laminating sheets off eBay :)

We use them to make signs for the farm and all sorts of things. I make laminated grid paper for my kids to do math - that and a dry erase marker ROCK! ;)

I bought an expensive one ($300) before I knew there were cheaper ones. My friend bought the one that Aldi's have for $19.99 and says it works great, she has had it for a year. They only carry them once in a while. You have to keep checking. They are worth every cent. Yes, buy the lamination off ebay for a lot less.

actually the one that I looked at is only a small one, the one that you do manually. It costs 30 for refill cartridge but makes a ton of pages per roll. ;60 ft?
it is xyron as well but is expensive to me at 129 , so I am looking for cheaper too

i will check walmart to see if they have a scotch one, the only scotch ones I could find online are the melty ones

Just a few minutes ago, I used clear packaging tape to "laminate" something. Hey, I was desperate!!

A laminator would be the bee's knees!!
