I don't think my walmart has them either (small town)-but I'm going to check-if not I'm sure I can find it somewhere...

Thank you ladies for your input!

I would think if the Wal-Mart that I go to has it, and it does, I would think any Wal-Mart would have it. I had to really look to find it, and didn't get to buy it when I did find it:(, but... I did learn quickly, and after it was to late, that I don't want to take my stuff to Staples to get laminated.

I have a Purple Cow that I got from Joann's at 1/2 off. I really like that it's 12" wide and also does cold laminating.

I like the name of that one even! I love the idea of cold and hot both in same machine!

okay-so as I said-no experience with a laminating machine here-what's the difference between hot and cold? Why would you need/prefer one over the other-pros/cons etc...

hot can over heat and melt it.. like one of the ones at church did to me. Then I had to use the cold one, where I rolled it by hand crank but it came out beautiful!
its not as clean of a meld though.

yep. Now, I don't leave it on for hours at a time but it's been on and in use for well over an hour a few times and no problems.

I have that same scotch one that Sommer has and I have never had problems with it over heating or melting things or anything like that and I have also left mine on for a couple hours at a time.

Mine is an Ibico, I got it used from another hs mom a few years ago. It has adjustable temp settings ans i can laminate some larger items, up to like 13 inches wide or something like that and I can use pouches that are up to 10mil. I have yet to have any problems with it and use it all the time. I love it

I have the scotch one from Walmart also, and I buy the generic pouches from Sam's club. I never realized how handy it would be. I bought it for a specific project and now I use it all the time and love it! I've never had any problems whatsoever with it.

Well....I was just going to wait until Christmas to make anything that needed to laminate....but....LOL I have a friend who is going to school to be a teacher, and she's very supportive of us homeschooling and buys my kids cool things and such for school, well she's taking Spanish this quarter and made them some Spanish flash cards (cause she knows Ephram wants to learn Spanish-plus it helped her study too) well she went to a LOT of trouble to find images for the cards (since Ephram can't read yet-and neither can Malachi who is also doing Spanish with us) cut out the images, glued them on, wrote the English and Spanish word on the back...I so want them laminated, she put so much work into them....so I may try to scrape up the money to buy it myself before then-I had $20 put back but we had to use it today :(
