to figure out that the old train depot in town was a MUSEUM! We visited today, and took some pictures. I am a huge advocate now for fiding out as much info about your hometown as possible! I wish my kids were older so we could do some of these AWESOME history ideas I have floating around in my head! LOL. I only have 3 pictures on my blog, more to come, but they are terribly interesting! Chekc them out!

    Nice!!

I've lived in our small town for about 12 years and there isn't much here LOL but I have found out a great deal of interesting history very close by over the years.

We haven't taken your poor flat anywhere-cause I was waiting to get both flats...but I guess I should see if the other person has even sent it and if not go ahead and take your out into the world!

    Meg -
12 years here near a small town before I discovered a beautiful park with miles of walking trails through the woods. Beautiful streams with wooden bridges for crossing, plaques marking different trees and fauna, huge picnic shelter tucked way back in the woods.

12 years!!! I thought I knew all my local town had to offer as it's so small. Like you, I think there is much more to discover!

SimplySonita- It's taken us awhile to go places with our flat we got! :/ We just recently took it to the Dairy, and the Train Museum. LOL - Dh suggested we take it to the Psychiatric museum since it has lots of history in there (plus I've been dying to go), and I was like, "OMG, The pictures would TERRIFY the kids!!!!" He doesn't get it. lol. But we've been to the State Park too, and another park in a near by town.

SquarePeg- That sounds like our state park, Wallace! We were roaming on the trails once and found a beautiful spot where there was a bench very close to a sharp drop off, lots of trees with a creek down below. BEAUTIFUL! Never have been able to find it again. :/ lol

Don't know how close you are to Washington Missouri, but they have a train museum too. There are a lot of small towns with historic spots that are neat to visit. I incorporate it into the HS lessons every chance I get. I just love visiting friends in other towns and getting HS credits, lol...

Wonder how close you are to me?
