My son is in 3rd grade, and it seems he's over doing math in a book (nice to let me know that just a month in to the year!). So, I'm looking for a good solid math curriculum, either on line or CD-Rom. Yesterday I found Fun Brain for him, so he did different math games on it for about an hour, but I don't think that's really a curriculum, more of a fun site to visit sometime.
    So, any suggestions/ideas?
Oh, he's doing Horizons math right now, if that helps anything.
    Thanks!!

Well of course there is TT... but what about looking into living math? The Your Business Math from Simply Charlotte Mason are way fun, so it Grocery Cart Math. We love games and have several.. 'Smath, Dino Math Tracks, Presto Change-O, and even things like Yatzee, Monopoly are mathy. We also have several of the Family Math books, and some books about math games.. one is Mega Fun Math Games.

My son used Time4Learning. Very interactive and my very visual son loved it. It has the "mastery approach". It also allows him to have access to 3 different grades at a time.

The Time4Learning looks pretty neat, but I wonder, do you think it's enough for a full 3rd grade curriculum?
I like the idea of living math, too... having a 'reason' for doing it would help I'm sure!
Thanks for the suggestions so far!!!

Check out KhanAcademy.org for a full, 100% free, trackable Math curriculum on the computer.

Also, check out Math Matters book series online. I just came across one of them in my library today, and I'm really happy with them. I'm thinking of using them in our math study this coming semester with the boys if I can find enough of them at the library.

I'm still figuring all that out.

Also, consider changing his type of Math. Maybe you can explore a little Algebra together. I'm looking at Calculus without Tears for 8yo, since it is meant for children in 4th grade level and up, but it may be that he's tired of Arithmetic

Do an indepth study of Money or work on Time for a little while,
Try mental math or begin studying a little Geometry or something different.

He says the thing he hates most is subtraction... I'm not sure why, as he can't tell me other than it's boring. LOL
Where he is in the Horizons book now has add, sub, multi, and some intro algebra. Oh, and a little of the "name that shape" stuff, too. I know he has really taken to the computer for school. He does SOS L Arts and Spanish, a typing course, and of course little educational games, too.
I'll check out your suggestions, Gizzy. Thanks!
