I need suggestions for 7th grade Math. We tried Saxon and it was an epic failure. Life of Fred just didn't do enough.
So, can anyone point me in a good diretion. We were thinking about trying time4learning? Good, Bad?
Or are there any good online things for 7th grade math?

    Thanks

Wow! That is out of the budget. I can't afford 149 bucks for one book.

but it's not a book.. do the sample lessons.. then start looking for it used.. You don't need the book only the disks.

Get it used, BUT GET IT!!! I was having the same problem with Phillip. We ditched Saxon mid-way last year, tried Fred because I had it around for Faythe, ditched it for whatever I could find on the internet just to get him through the school year. I finally "bit the bullet" and got TT5 for Phillip. HE'S LOVING IT!!! And when you get to the higher maths, you don't need to know ANYTHING! The kids can do it totally on their own.

I cant say enough good things about Teaching Textbooks!

You can find it used on Homeschool classifieds or on Ebay. By the time you add up what you will spend on all the programs that are useless you could have bought the TT... ask me how I know.

I also want to add that TT has a great resell value when you're done with it.

We use Time4Learning and like it. It got us through our first year homeschooling 4th grade. Not sure about the 7th grade level.

We are using both teaching textbooks and time4learning. This is our first year homeschooling and since my daughter was in advanced math in PS we are using time4learning level 7 math mostly as her review and teaching textbooks algebra1 for the new stuff. we could have opted to put her in level 8 math or algebra via time4learning but we heard such good things about teaching textbooks we wanted to try it. I'm happy with both.

While we do use TT, my son prefers Keys to . . . program. We did keys to fractions and keys to decimals, and now we are using the Keys to Algebra this year. While it is not a full program (especially the decimals and fractions books) they are great supplements, and you can use them as your primary texts, then fill in with activities and worksheets for whatever is left to cover.

Plus, they are cheap. Only $4.95 a workbook (4 books in each series, plus an answer key) and you can often pick them up a teachers centers.

A previous post already shared but TT has an incredible resale price. Some people even sell it for more than the used purchase price once they are finished with it.

My son is 8 years old and is in 3rd grade with Time4Learning. He loves it and has learned a lot from it. My grandson has just started 7th grade. When I talked to my daughter she said he likes it but didn't go in to any detail about what he liked about it or anything. He was in public school for kindergarden, homeschooled for 1st grade, public school for third and fourth, and homeschooled since midway through 4th grade. My son has never been to school.
