I am the wife of a great h and the homeschooling mom of three children. My oldest dd is 20 and a senior in college. I have a 17yr old dd and a 14yr old ds and we are finishing our 12th year of homeschooling. I am so happy to find this forum. We moved to TX 3 years ago and seemed to find the one place where there aren't many homeschoolers. I have missed talking, listening,and sharing with other homeschoolers. In all the states I been through and homeschool my two dd's Texas is a big homeschool state. Must be in a dry area. Like we are waiting for rain. No rain since Nov. here. Hi, Dixiegirl! We are in Texas! We are in East Texas, near Tyler. There are many homeschoolers here. Sounds like you are in the middle of nowhere! West Texas is so different from East Texas. I love it here(the forum) and hope you will too. I rely on these ladies for my SANITY some days! Sabrina Kris, how weird about the rain - it is raining here like every other day! We have more rain than normal.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. We live in central Texas and yes it is dry here both for Homeschoolers and for rain. My son says that there is a thumb over us to keep the rain out. It rains all around us, but not here! We are from MS originally where it rains practically every day. I have met many people here in Texas just not homeschoolers that are close enough to where we live. It seems that here not many choose to homeschool through high school. My son enters 9th grade next year, I have already graduated one daughter, and the other will be a senior next year. They love younger children, but need the company of their own age. We are very active in our church, so they have friends-just not homeschoolers. Sometimes it is nice to have someone to talk to where you don't have to explain yourself all the time. Wow! WOW, All of Texas people need to meet some where half way? Jennifer what is half way point from Houston I think Tina and She is up around there too. We should really plan something for the summer. Unfortunately I am not in Fort Bend county. I know you have some great support groups all over Houston. We live in Fayette County in a little town called Schulenburg. We lived in the Woodlands/Conroe area for a while, but we missed the country so much. Just drove and drove to find a quiet place to live. I didn't think about looking for a support group until we were here. Anyway we feel we are where the Lord led us and are quiet happy. It would be great to meet you and get to know you! Dixiegirl
