Great question... I'd have to say patience. Working with a boy that is easily distracted takes a lot of patience.

My husband and I were just saying something similar. As soon as you get one kid settled with whatevers going on with them, then another needs work. Once you get the kids all settled, then mom or dad has a nervous breakdown! There's always something going on!

For me the hardest part is convincing myself that I'm not messing up. (See other post) I am always second guessing myself, I have probably a dozen or more books/websites about who should learn what and when, and if I find something in ONE book that they don't know, then I stop everything till they learn it. Seriously I'm terrified that I'm going to mess up.

My ds is fantastic! Get's right into it and gets it done. Grades are fantastic because of SOS if his grade is below a 75 then he asks me to reassign it so he can do it. (He was the one who had diffuculty in ps!)

My dd wow, keep her task! At this point I have to sit and read everything to her. She is trying to figure out a way to skip through and make her life more simple. But, then she gets below a 75 and I have to reassign the work. Struggles!!! Hopefully, it will get better soon.

Oh no! My roaster is still in the freezer!! Guess it'll be soup and quesadillas for dinner. . . again. Meal planning and housekeeping are my major struggles, especially since I am new to all of this.

Also, I pray daily (hourly) for patience. My youngest loves asking questions about EVERY page he is reading. It can take him half an hour to read a simple reader because of all of the stopping he does to ask questions.

Cherry ridge remember that you can have the computer also read aloud to her, my kids used to really get a kick out of the voices available and would re read things just to hear how the computer said it, sort of made this stuff fun!
Thank you for reminding me of that benefit of SOS, if ds goes out for high school he is going to a school with SOS as its main course load, it is run by an ex homeschool dad so its cool!

    Bad days

So that means that I get one day a week when everyone has good attitudes. I think that day usually lands on Sunday, which is appropriate, isn't it?

    Always something

Well, thank the Lord, that He never gives us more than we can bear. Of course, sometimes I wish I could "bear" less. ;)

Exactly! one day to breath! HA!
So long as they do not over lap their days it should work fine, and if you think about it maybe you can get them all to have a bad day on half the week and a fun attitude on the other half , working together?
    what ages are they anyway?

I think finding a balance for us. I want to be in between unschooling and relaxed schooling. I WANT to let go of a lot of the control, only my OCD (and I really do have it-not using the term lightly) won't let me.
