I am so excited we finished first grade math with my ds, which included the 200+ facts that come with the CLE math. It isn't mastery based memorization of the facts yet, but they have all been introduced and are all familiar to him. We ran through about 1/3 of them and he didn't miss a single one. I was so excited. He also made a 100 on the last 3 test. This is also the first Circ. that we have started and completed all the way through. My dd will finish 100 ez lessons in the next couple of days ( depending on how many lessons she wants to do per day) and finished her site words. She has read a couple Dr. Seuss books to me this past week, so she is ready to be done with the book 100ez too. I am so excited this was a very tough year for me, and us. Not really school wise, I am so glad that we chose the books we did, because they worked great for us. But with our business I was so busy, we had several sick family and close friends that required about 4 weeks total time hanging out at the hospital. We are going to take Dec off, kind of. We are going to do a Jesse tree, and work on flash cards and speed drills. Science as they want to because they love it. And I am going to clean my house! In Jan we will start off with CLE math 100 for dd, 200 for ds. Spelling power for both of them ( we will see how that goes) Astronomy, MOH V1 and FLL 2 for ds and FLL 1 for dd.
Congratulations! Don't you just love it when they "get" something we have taught them! It is so wonderful to be able to take part in that 'ah ha" moment! Danielle
That's one of the funniest things, I am so much more excited then the kids are. I am like I conquered 1st grade math. WOOT WOOT. My son is like Oh yea I made a 100. LOL I think it might be because I have two more to follow through 1st grade, and if I made it with one I can do it with the others.
Woohoo! We finished CLE 100 a couple months ago too! It is exciting isn't it! CLE is a great choice! My dd is excellent at math I love their teaching method.
I love how easy CLE is to teach. My ds is doing great at it, and before he was just not doing well at all. I wish he was more into workbooks, because I would love to buy all of their stuff and be done with it. But he would have a melt down if we did that. I push it with math.
