Well we went over the ocean through the city and to the tree farm this week end and ended up cutting down a 16 foot tree that was all alone and need a home. So out came the saw and down came the tree. Now its up in our living room.

We decide we are having a open house for Christmas this year. Alot of guys at my hubby's work been wanting to come over to see our house. What a better time right, to show off our tree.

Any way I need some quick finger foods to have and cookies. Something for Christmas. Any ideas Ladies and Gentlemen

Mix cream cheese with a package of Ranch Dressing Mix
    spread on tortillas
    top with shaved ham
    Roll and slice.

    Holly Cookies
Mix marshmellow, butter, and corn flakes (like you would for Rice Crispy Treats)
    Add green food coloring
    mix well
put in globs on wax paper
put 3 red hots in the center of each

    Haystacks:
    •1 cup butterscotch chips
    •1/2 cup peanut butter
    •1/2 cup peanuts
    •2 cups chow mein noodles

Melt the chips and peanut butter in the microwave or on the stovetop
stir in the peanuts and noodles
drop on waxed paper by the spoonful

they basically look like little stacks of hay.

swedish meatballs, bread bowl with spinach dip, fruit tray, cheese tray, cheese ball and crackers, deep fried ravioli with marinara dipping sauce, stuffed mushrooms. Oh and that sounds like a whopper of a tree post some pics sometime. My goodness you must have high ceilings lol. That had to have been a struggle to stand up :)

No, it's not the best option for ANY party, but for some. There is no way I would hire a professional caterer for a casual party like this! Homeschoolers live on a TIGHT budget, and catering for simple stuff that we can easily do ourselves, especially if we can involve the kids and turn it into a learning experience, is not an option.
