I am looking for a toaster oven to somewhat replace my microwave. After researching the microwave I am really not liking using it after seeing what it does to our food. So I have been reading reviews on toaster ovens and they are really bad. Every time I think I have found the one I want it is either too expensive or really bad reviews. Do any of you have them and what brand do you like? So far I have found kitchenaid and black & decker have very poor reviews.

I have one and use it daily to reheat leftovers. I love my toaster oven, but do have a gripe or two for you to avoid. Mine is a GE brand. It is rounded and the glass door is rounded and slides around and over the top of the oven rather than just open up like a standard door. I find that it get build up and doesn't slide well and there is not much I can do about it. It is awkward to clean. Gripe #2 about it is that it does not have much "head room", so if I toast something that puffs or pops, it gets too close to the upper element and burns...or bursts into flames.

Hope that helps! They really are wonderful to have and to use. :)

I have thisone and I love it! It does a great job cooking frozen pizza, reheating frozen waffles, doesn't make great toast but since I have a toaster I don't care. I don't reheat many leftovers in it, but when I have it's done a good job. It's also inexpensive!

I bought my Proctor Silex Toaster Oven & Broiler from Wal-Mart about 5 years ago and it's wonderful. We use it on a daily basis, too. No complaints.

ETA: The one we own is the same one Birbitt mentioned in the post above. It's a good oven.
