I have been hs'ing my kids since Day One. Rachael is a junior this year, and she just got back the score from her first attempt taking the ACT test. She scored in the 97th Percentile!!! Woo-Hoo!!! Science was her worse subject; math and English her best.
Thats awesome Jackie! Hurray! btw, how do you get them signed up for an act test? I really need either that or Sat for dd. Shes applying for scholarships to colleges but needs test results. We never tested cause we didn't have to
Congratulations! Kudos to everyone, you, your student, your family, everyone! I'm so, so, very happy for you!
Woo-hoo!!! What a way to package up all those days when you wonder if you are doing your kids justice and toss those doubts right out the nearest window! Way to go!
Wonderful!! It must really feel good to be able to say to those homeschooling nay-sayers that the "proof is in the puddin"!
Jakk, that sure is the truth!!! And I know full well that there's MANY hs'ed kids that are doing just as well! One thing I love is that so many of her friends, while doing better than her in some areas and not as well in others, really encourage her to do her very best in ALL areas. I love the way the kids encourage one another, get excited for each other when they do well, and sympathize when things are tough. They pray for one another, and are VERY supportive. It's so wonderful to see!
I think it tells you there. You type in your zip code or something, and they tell you where in your area. I think.
When someone gives you grief about hs-ing you can hand them the bean dip along with a nice tall glass of shut the heck up!
LOL! It also helps that she's my first. Faythe will be a completely DIFFERENT story! She's smart, but in very different ways than her sister, and not as academic.
When I am at school, I am a teacher's aide-volunteer at school along with being a paid lisc. substitute teacher. Anyway, when someone starts bad mouthing homeschoolers I never say a word, I like to watch the person's facial expressions and body language when it finally dons on them I'm in the room. They wiggle out of it by saying, "you're the exception.................!" LOL I personally don't care what they think so they can't get me to try and defend homeschooling, homeschoolers speak for themselves-no need for defending.
Yes it does but there are none in my area lol. But I am going to the local college to ask them about it this coming week with dd going back to classes. She has gone from wanting to go to school in England to wanting to be close enough to still be active at church. Bit of a change?yep!
