I've been teaching my older son various things through song since the day he was born. The latest is skip counting 6's through 9's. Of course, anything big brother can do, little brother can do (or so he thinks, anyway). The most recent song was the 6's through 6x12 using the tune "Jesus Loves Me" ... so this evening at bedtime when we were doing prayers and Bible songs, what do I hear? My 2 year old singing his 6's. Granted, he has NO CLUE what it means, but it's hilarious to hear a 2 year old skip counting by 6's!! Who says HS kids are behind PS kids?
So cute! My 2 year old had me in stitches the other day. It went something like this: 2 year old: Where's Daddy? Me: I think he is at the store. 2 year old: Can I buy him? I love this age!
That's great! I would never have thought to teach my 2 yr. old that, but why not? He may not understand it now, but it will be stored in his memory for when it makes sense. Wonderful! I did buy a CD of bible verse memory songs for my DS. He loves to sing, and has picked up several Christmas carols this year.
I agree that 2 year olds are just too cute! My two year old said, "I'm busy, mommy. I'm busy." when I told her it was nap time. She is always coming up with crazy stuff. I love hearing little ones like that sing also. j Although I will have to admit that sometimes I wish I could take her back to the store..lol. She is the most difficult 2 year old I've had.
LOL! I love the store one! It amazes me the things he picks up just being in the same room when his brother is learning something. Two year olds see and hear everything, I think. They all do, whether people want to admit it or not.
Aw! Kids do/say the darnest things sometimes!! Last night I was putting my two year old to bed and I said, "Night Paddy, I love you." and he said, "Luv too, Ma." lol. One of his first 3 word phrases! Love the story about buying Daddy at the store! Too cute!!
Hehe cute! Mine is currently into clocks. If I ask him what time it is he will usually tell me its 1,3,5.
Just the tune of Jesus Loves Me. "6, 12, 18, 24. 30, 36 42. 48, 54, 60. 66 and 72. Those are the 6's. Those are the 6's. Those are the 6's, to count to 72." Nothing fancy.
