My name is Heather, and I'm a Christian SAHM of 4 ages 6 and under (DS6, DS4, DD, almost 3 & DD 11 months). We are from Lincolnton, NC. We had planned to homeschool from the beginning, but due to some issues this summer we decided to put oldest DS in public school kindergarten. Things were going smoothly, and we loved his teacher. Then we moved two counties away and to a new school district. We don't like the school, don't like his teacher, don't like the bus situation, and DS's attitude has changed drastically for the worse. We officially made the decision to pull him out at the end of this week. Since I have already sold the curriculum I had, I'm looking at a couple of online programs that won't involve paying a large amount (which we don't have) up front. I'm leaning towards Time 4 Learning $20/month, but also checking into The Head of the Class since it does offer the benefit of being FREE! I have plenty of supplemental books, etc. here, so I'm just trying to find a good core curriculum.
Welcome! We brought ours home mid-year too. They were in K and 2nd. Now they are both in middle school. Best wishes!
Heather~we are starting a 50 state unit and are looking for HS families from each state to help us. We don't haveone from NC~are you interested? We would like to receive a family picture, postcard and something special/unique to your state/area. We will respond back with letter, picture and something from So California. Email me if interested! Jennifer Vanbreemenmom@gmail.com
Hi, I'm new as well and from Lincolnton! My family and I just moved here March 1st. My boys are 5 (6 in May) and 16 months! I'd love to hear from you and perhaps get the boys together sometime. Sarah
Welcome, glad you're here. Got ideas? We would love to hear them. Need ideas? We'd be glad to share ours. Blessings!
Welcome to the spot! Also check out lessonpathways.com I have lots of free resources listed here http://gapeachhomeschool.yolasite.com I think you and him both will be fine just using free resources from the internet and your local library for the remainder of the year. Don't freak out, and don't think your son is going to be missing out if you don't buy a curriculum until next year. Take your time, get to know your style and his before you buy anything.
Hi I am a new home schooler...stepdaughter who is a 7th grader and I need help with keeping her involved socially! Any suggestions? I need info on homeschool associations etc. as well, I am an extreme newbie to this! YIKES! We are excited but just would love help! We are in Lincoln County!
