I found some new lifepacs for LA for my dd at Goodwill today for .49 :D

It looks like the teacher book would be really helpfull, and I noticed some on paperbackswap that are available. However, the pacs I got are published in 2007, and the TE on pbs are published in 1996 and say gold on them. Are they the same or do I need to buy the newest version teacher edition ?

    Thanks

I'm going to suggest that you go to the website and ask the help of customer service, whether the contents of those two are compatible. I used to use a lot of lifepac, and I found that just because they changed the covers didn't mean they changed the content necessarily.

http://www.aophomeschooling.com/lifepac/overview.php Down the left column, under Getting in touch with us, there's a link for Life Help. Ask them.

I have the 1 st grade Lifepac teachers manual. If you would like I can tell you what is on certain pages and you can see if its the same.

You could probably wing LifePac's without the TM, honestly!

You can probably do the first grade lifepacs without the TM. But, if you really think you need one I would get the newer one because the older one is not the same. Be Blessed, Dawn

I am not usually a TM kind of girl, they just collect dust. But when I was looking through some of the samples online for the later workbooks, it had passages that said listen to your teacher, then answer the questions. It gave me the impression there was a story I was supposed to be reading out of the TM so they could then answer questions about it. Am I wrong about that ?

My dd is using the 3rd grade Lifepacs LA and I have not found that I have to read her a story or anything. Even if I did have to I don't think I would. She gets everything she needs from her workbook and the other stuff I put together for her.

ok the GOlds are just updated versions, some mistakes may be corrected in it or something, but for 1st grade I dont think there will be a lot of change, you could grade it yourself without the teacher book but its nice to have it for helping at that level.

I think the reason the 1st grade TMs are good is they include some extra activities in the back of the books. I don't think I have any left, but I'll check my files.

You don't NEED them, truly. :)

There is a variety of things with LPs that you have this for- sometimes its a short story, sometimes just a sentence or paragraph you read> For times when I did not have a teacher book I just 'wung it' and used whatever off the top of my head that matched the theme that dd or ds were learning at the time. Or I skipped over it.
