Is there somewhere or someway for High Schoolers to take the SAT and ACT other than though the ps? And when did you DC take them?
Where I grew up, the only places you could take the tests were on college campuses. I just looked up the registration sites and found that most places test at high schools! I had no idea! I mean, I know I grew up in the boonies lol, but sheesh! Yeah, you'll probably have to have your kids test at a high school, but you don't have to register through them. You can register online. http://sat.collegeboard.com/register http://www.actstudent.org/regist/index.html
OF COURSE! Rachael took it right before Christmas, and it wasn't in connection with a high school, though she did take it AT a high school. Here's where you sign up: http://www.actstudent.org/index.html Schools just provide a LOCATION. They are not connected in any other way. And it is given during non-school times, usually on Saturday.
CAT or SAT Tests I order our children's test from Family Learning Organization and I have used them for the last 9 years of us homeschooling. You just have to be sure you get someone else to give the test to your children. I really like them. Here is the web site:www.familylearning.org.
ACT and CAT aren't the same test. I don't think you can order the ACT or SAT. It MUST be done at a testing center.
Go to the College board website. You can sign up for the tests, ACT or SaT or the SAT subject tests and the AP Exams. collegeboard.com They are given at SAT/ACT/AP testing sites. In some places it is a high school, in others it is a community college. For this spring's SAT she needs to be signed up by Feb 11 to take the March test. My daughter is a junior now and will take this spring's test. You can take them as young as 6th and 7th grade. And you can take them more than once.
There's also the PSAT. I learned (too late) that National Merit Scholar (and any scholarship that goes with it!) is awarded based on PSAT scores!
