Does anyone use this curriculum? It looks really interesting. Mixes worldview with science. I am gonna get some copies for review, I was just wondering if anyone here has anything to say about it? http://www.truth-in-science.com
I have just found this, too. It looks pretty good, but I can't find a kit that goes with it. Not a big fan of having to try and find things for experiments.
I just got this for my DD9. She is using grade 4. I LOVE IT!!!!! It is very student driven, so she works mostly independently. There are longer projects for each step, which has gotten her creativity going in this area. I do not think there are kits, but so far the experiments have been super simple with easy to find items. I do not use the teacher's guide and I am still in debate whether it is worth it. So far I think I could have enhanced lessons with the Teacher's Guide, however the whole point of me ordering this curriculum is so she can do it independently. Honestly, I think this is the best science curriculum we have ever used. I like the spiral approach to teaching, the teaching world and biblical view, and the way the lessons are taught. Experiments are totally student driven so I just get the supplies and DD does the rest on her own.
I just got the steps package. I think that the price for the quality of the books is amazing. All full color and beautiful graphics and there are 11 steps!
As far as I know the only supply list is in the teacher manual. I don't have this, so I just look through the step and plan one step at a time.
There are 2 experiments per step. One is supposed to be a presentation, but DD does it as an experiment. The other one is an experiment. For us it is a good mix of experiment vs reading. I have found other curriculum's to have either too much reading or too many experiments for our liking.
