    I finally finished up my final tests today. Im pretty pleased with the outcome of my grades. 4 Bs and 4 As

    Math= B: 87%
    History= B: 87%
    Science= B: 88.5%
    Language= B: 81%
    Bible (Old Testament Studies)= A: 95.5%
    College Planner= A: 94%
    Home Ec= A: 100%
    Biblical Studies = A: 100%

    For Home Ec, i basically cooked a new meal once a week for half a semester. Then for Biblical Studies i did a workbook once a day for half a semester also. My dad graded the workbook and looked up any answers that he didnt know himself. 10th grade is complete, and im looking to enjoy a nice relaxing summer! :D

    Good job Brad! Congrads, did you have a lesson thing for HOme Ec? The Alpha Omega one? My kid wants try it out. I have been teaching cooking and various sewing methods, but its always fun to have something else to follow than Mom occasionally haha.
    and the college planner was that SOS as well? I had looked at that and was wondering what it was about? I am planning two years at once as my dd is doing half and half years, so I figured I had better be ready down the line too incase... and I will have to give her fillers for the classes she has already done next year.
    Thanks for your ideas!
    once again Good jobe with the grades!

    Home Ec was something that me and my dad put together as something for me to take part in. I thought incase i marry a woman who isnt a very good cook and doesnt enjoy cooking, i might as well know how to do the basics and then some.

    College Planner was a very informative subject to take. I was already freaking out in 9th grade as to what i wanted to be and the career i wanted to pursue. This pretty much put me to ease and i was always willing to learn something new.

    Its pretty much an elective that your children can take for half the year. I ended up doing it for the full year. Instead of doing it everyday i would do it once or twice a week. I enjoyed it a lot and highly recommend it to any parent and student.

    Sounds like a great report card! I can't wait for my dd to do Home Ec! She's only 9 but she already enjoys making simple dishes. So, that should be fun! What are you planning to do this summer?

    Well im currently looking for a job. All my friends that are homeschooled had a little trouble finding jobs and they all agreed with me that they thought the job supplyers didnt think too highly of homeschoolers. I guess they think many of them are "socially uneducated" which i think isnt fair at all.

    Our landlord recently dropped by and notified us that he is raising the rent on our condo/apartment. Its been a whole mess trying to work with him so it looks like we will be finding a better place at a more affordable price.

    Good luck with finding the job and a new home. I went to CiCi's Pizza (probably a southern local thing) and the assistant manager saw our homeschool shirts. He said that he was homeschooled and loved it! I was thrilled to hear that and see that he had a good job!

    Just a thought here on the homeschool hiring thing-- did you name your home school?
    Here in California we are signed up as a private (home) school and we named our school for the afidavit records and all that.
    So I told my kids that if they do not feel comfortable mentioning that they home schooled they could say they attended Agape Academy. This helps when you fill out forms for school special things too. After all we are schools, we are just in the home and our teachers love and care for their students hehehe.
    Just my two cents...
    And Brad, I will be praying that the Lord God brings you to a really good job that will appreciate all that knowledge you have achieved in schooling and your eagerness to serve!
    Be blessed not stressed!

    Congrats Brad! This was my first year homeschooling and I jumped into the water to homeschool my 16yr old dd. The current enrollment at the HS is over 1700 kids and it is not a good situation there. My ds just graduated by the skin of his teeth and wants to attend the local tech school this fall. As far as jobs go, Jane turned 16 in March and was thrilled to have more options as many places don't hire anymore until 17 or 18. She ended up at Lizard's Thicket (local southern resteraunt) waitressing and absolutely loves it. The manager was actually thrilled to hear she was a hser as this didn't restrict her hours. We laugh because her hours have actually been compatible with regular school hours. It has been great for her as she had become very sullen and withdrawn and this makes her have to put on a smile if she wants her tips and this has carried on into our home life. As far as the homeschooling side, I'm sure we will do better next year but one comment I read somewhere is how nice it is to have my child back. Good luck with the job search Brad!!

    Thanks for the prayers and recommendations. I usually just put "homeschooled" on my application.

    Great job Brad!!! Be proud you are homeschooled. I know many homeschool kids from church and I am proud to know the kiddos! Hopefully your future employer will also appreciate that fact. Keep up the good grades!

    It looks as if everyones prayers have been received. I just got a call from Kroger's and they would like to have me in for an interview at 1PM tomorrow! Im pretty thrilled about it and im hoping all will go well. In 6th grade i did this "mock" interview for school. That was when i was in Public school and i scored pretty high on it.

    Your prayers are very much appreciated!
