Hi Everyone! We are fairly new homeschoolers residing in rural Montrose, Colorado. We have a bit of a complicated history to share in a nutshell, but I'll try :lol: We have 5 children, all adopted from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. 3 are older adoptees, adopted at 8, 10 and 11. Our two daughters (now 11 and 12) have been home almost a year and are learning English. Our son (now 12) is home 3 1/2 years and has auditory processing disorder, cleft lip and palate, and memory issues. Our two adopted as infants are sons as well, ages 8 and 11 and are working above grade level in some subjects. We are homeschooling for a gazillion reasons and none seems more important than the other! We started with one child last September and quickly realized they all needed to come home. Our life has changed so much, and we are incredibly happy being a homeschooling family, even if it IS a real challenge for me sometimes! Welcome Cindy. My husband and I have seven children. Three older married kids born to us and four who we adopted from foster care. Our baby girl is 12 years old now. She was a cleft lip and cleft palate baby too. We homeschool our two youngest and our grandson. This is our 5th year. Glad you joined us here at Homeschool Spot.
Welcome. Homeschooling does change the dynamics in the home but for the better. So glad you found the Spot

Jst moved 2 a new area, cant find any support groups a little worried!! How crazy is it that I was looking for support groups close to me... finding NOTHING and then get on this site and the first thread I see is someone 20 minutes away!! I actually grew up in Montrose and moved away with my hubby and 2 kiddos and now have moved back to Delta with 6 kiddos! feel like a stranger in a strange place hoping to find something.... I know my kids will go crazy and so will I!!!!
