Hello Everyone. My name is Kelly and I'm new here. I've put this suggestion out to other forums but as of yet have not had anyone interested. I homeschool my only daughter who is 11 going on 30 *laffs*. I read a post or two from mother's who weren't worried socialization but "friends" and party invites and just someone to talk to. I've been trying to organize a pen pal program for kids so our kids can make friends with kids who are of like mind and age. My daughter loves getting mail and runs like a mad woman to the mail every morning. kids love getting stuff so i thought it would be a good project for communication.....language.....spelling.....and geography depending on where everyone is from. If anyone is interested....let me know.
I'm definitely interested in the program, but mine aren't the right ages to be penpals with your daughter (or at least.. I'm doubting your dd wants to talk starwars with my 9yo ds or ponies with my 6yo dd )
*laffin* She would.....but you're right, she would probably enjoy someone more her age. Thats what is awesome about homeschooled children tho......they aren't stuck in that group of only relating to their peers. All kids count as my daughter likes to say. all interactions are great no matter what age. she would be happy just knowing she made a younger childs day better. I see you're a hobby farmer....what sort of animals do you have?? We have rabbits, chickens, pigs and horses.
My daughter is 14 and would like another pen pal, especially one from Canada. She likes games like Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. She also loves comics like Zits, Fox Trot, Garfield and Far Side. Please PM or email me with your address and I'll get my dd right on it.
My DS is 12, going on a typical male 30 (still acts like a kid), lol. He would love a pen pal. Said he could write to a girl if she asked questions. Otherwise she is likely to get a letter about cars, Cars, CARS. Maybe other boys will join in as well. PM me with info.
My son seven almost eight would like a penpal or two as his sister has two already. PM with info on how thinking of setting this up?
