She's a k'er so none of these topics will go super deep - just a general intro. to the idea/place. I've got Phonics/Writing/Spelling covered, as well as Math, Life Skills and Bible. I'm working to create 26ish weeks of Science/SocialStudies/Geography topics. I'm thinking of doing something like: on Day 1 (of the week) intro. a new skill (such as making the bed) - I'll demonstrate and then let her do it. The other days of the weeks I'll check up on her work in that area. On Day 2 intro our Sci/SoStu/Geo topic (Rabbits, maybe). On Days 3,4 and 5 enrich that idea with coloring pages, crafts, etc (going to use Enchanted Learning for this).

I've got a pretty good list going, but need some help. I'm going to see if I can group my topics like this:

Week 1: Cats, Week 2: Egypt, Week 3: Cleopatra.

Week 4: Rabbits, Week 5: England, Week 6: Beatrix Potter

and so on, so that my weeks connect - an animal (science), a place where you might find that animal (geographY), and a noteable person from that area (social studies).

    Does that make sense? :)

So...I need a k-friendly noteable person from: Mexico, Holland, France, Brazil (or another SAmer. country), India, Russia. Any ideas?????

    Thank you!

Civil Rights Activist, Cesar Chavez was from Mexico,
Both the paintersRembrandt andVan Gogh were from Holland. You'll have to adapt some of these things, but its a start.
The French writerAlexandre Dumas is the author who wrote several popular books. The 3 Muskateers and Conte of Monty Cristoe, etc. Also, he's obviously from France.
You may or may not be familiar with Pelébut he is a Brazilian athlete known to be one of the greatest football (soccer!) players EVER. Maybe even the greatest.
As for a notable Indian person, Ghandi is an obvious (maybe too obvious? But then again, I don't think your Ker knows much about him) choice for an Indian worth learning about. He inspired MLK and helped in the US Civil Rights Movement in that way
Nelson Mandela Yes, I know this isSouth Africa, but I'm having trouble thinking of someone from Russia...

    Sorry :\
