SQUEEL!! Our wonderful UPS man delivered us some Latin today. I can't wait to get started on it. DS13 was even ready to get going on it right away. He wanted to pop the DVD in and start it TONIGHT.. We held off because hubby isn't one for watching instructional DVD's as a way to relax after a hard day at work. I can't wait for tomorrow.. I'm a weirdo. I know..

    Yeah

Our Latin arrived yesterday too - you never know we might be able to start a Latin conversation soon....:p

I am going to review it first though before giving it to the children to get started.

    Good luck with it all.

Cool! OMGosh I hope my kids are into Latin in a couple of years! I think my oldest probably will be, not sure about the younger one. I'm going to get them some in a couple years anyway and if they don't wanna learn it I will! LOL (Cause I'm a weirdo too!)

We chose Prima Latina. It's really geared towards k-4 but I got it for my 3 older ones who are 10,13,and 14. My 7 year old is still learning to read so I was afraid that it would confuse her. The first lesson taught about the alphabet and compared ours with the Latin. The only differance is that there is no w in latin. BUT the vowels sound differant and that's what I was afraid would throw dd7 off.
    A~~AH
    E~~ AY
    I~~ EE
    O~~ OH
    U~~OO

But she is practicing with us on the vocabulary words. So far we LOVE it and the kids actually asked to do it today. Shocker coming from my ds13 who doesn't want to do ANYTHING.. But it's only the 2nd day so the newness hasn't worn off yet. I hope they will still be enjoying it in a few weeks. I REALLY want to order the next one, but I feel like this was a good choice. Not too babyish either. I was really afraid they would feel like they were doing work that was younger than them but it's fine and the DVD teacher REALLY helped and she was fun not boring..
